Nocturne feels useless

Recently i have been playing Nocturne and as a main Jungler he feels so underwhelming. He can't clear jungle without backing at lvl 3, his ganks are weak, he is squishy. I may be playing him wrong, but overall i feel he is so underwhelming unless he gets fed early.

Any tips or builds that prove to be successful in this meta?

Built in Sustain, Gapcloser, Hard CC...are you sure it's nocturne and not the person playing him? I do just fine in jungle with champions with less sustain in their kit and runes than him.

Hard CC? you call that fear hard CC? lol

Nocturne has the same problem as Skarner, a one trick pony who doesn't have a role.

In terms of ganks, they are subpar compared to other fighter junglers.

In terms of Tankiness, they are subpar compared to other tank junglers

Damage? can't outdamage a fed yi or a fed Vi no matter how fed you are.

So yes, Nocturne looks cool on paper, but in game he feels exactly like Skarner, when the enemy team has a brain, you just get kited to hell in this league of Dash.

A fear that keeps people from ATTACKING, SPELLCASTING, et cetera, and gives you a Speed buff? Yeah, that's a pretty strong CC/Boost right there, and there's your issue, right there. He's not a Fighter, He's an Assassin. Instead of going for Full-health Enemies, he should be jumping in when they're low enough to hang back, but not low enough to back yet. Bork, Shiv, Brutalizer, then tanky items to give you a little more dive potential, that's all you really need. I've done bad in Jungle with Nocturne maybe twice, and those were both because of MY mistakes. I really think you just need to look at your games, your playstyle and realize that you're not great at playing as the Spooky Ghostman

Eh, he's not super strong, and is kinduva an ult-bot against teams with decent kiting, but he can put out pretty absurd damage.

I'd say in a lot of cases if you build him as more of a bruiser than assassin, you can do quite well harassing their back lines with his built in sustain and steroids.
