Zoe's E Doesn't Actually Do True Damage

I have been saying this over and over since her numbers were spoiled. The "True damage" portion of her E is based on damage that was reduced by resistances. If you take the full proc it means that you took damage that did at least that much through your resistances and so the doubled damage is just straight doubled, instead of being doubled and reduced again. If the second proc WASN'T true damage then you'd be running into a case where resistances were actually being more effective than they should be. The damage type is set up to basically mimic the damage type of whatever procced it without getting reduced by resistances twice.

Tl;dr If it wasn't true damage than resistances would come into play twice against the damage, so stop complaining about it.

The cap makes it effectively a flat amount of bonus true damage though. It's just conditional. Of course if it wasn't capped it would be really dumb. But even with the cap it's a powerful ability.

Including the base damage of the ability before the conditional wakeup damage, it can do a lot more damage than most abilities in the game. All things considered it's undeniably a powerful ability and the condition to get that power is to hit the target for more damage than the damage cap, which isn't too difficult especially given her Q.

All the details and special conditions are a nice distraction from the fact that most of the time this ability will do 440 + 80% AP damage, half of that damage being true damage.

Her kit in general is really TLDR blah blah blah but the bottom line is you do a shitload of damage lol

If the proc damage wasn't capped you would be right, but as is you can do 1500 damage with q and you are only getting 220 + 40% ap true damage.

Essentially they made it do capped true damage so it does decent damage without being absolutely insane.

You guys are missing the key point, it doesn't matter if it's capped or not, if it's doing 220 + .4 true damage that's because the ability that procced it did that amount of damage through your resistances. Capped or uncapped it doesn't make a difference.
