Dynamic Queue: Some suggestions
I've always felt the idea of premades belonging in normal games. It has always been that way, either team up with 5 and do ranked teams, or team up with 5 in normals. Ranked was always a place where you showed individual strength in a team environment. Dynamic queue turned everything upside down.
What I dislike is not the aspect of premades being too prevalent in the scene, but more that the matchmaking doesn't respect the player's playstyles.
I am a primarily solo player, at least I was until I quit playing ranked, and theres a solid reason why I stopped ranked. It's because for some weird reason, I'd always draw the short stick and get paired with 4-mans. The worst part is that you have no control over what happens. If they give up they all agree they give up, and you cannot showcase your ability to carry or even rally some people up saying that "we still got a chance", because you can't rally 4 people who rallied together all this time already.
My original thoughts was that you could queue up with a maximum of 3, and get paired with a duo. That way, the solo environment still exists, while premades exist too, without them having too much of an influence on the game. Back in the day you could only duo with someone, not trio, so the likelihood that you had no control in a game was relatively small. It takes 4 people to surrender, so only Duo's who were deluded would refuse, rather than 4 people instantly surrendering after one lost teamfight which wasnt even relevant to the game's outcome. There was already a slight inconvenience with 2, but why not make it inconveniant for 3 max?
With 3 people maximum, and bringing the ranked team concept back, you get paired with either 2 other solo players or a duo, and that way the premades dont take complete control over the outcome of the game. Basically, you have a say, and you can be more impactful on your own. Instead of everyone but you giving up, feeding, flaming, or trolling, there is the possibility of another player being on your side, and I've seen 2v5s come out on top moreso than 1v5s. This will at least bring some balance to the game, while still keeping the concept of dynamic queue in existance. either solo, duo, trio, or 5. The problem imo lies with the number 4.
Any thoughts?
