Diminishing Returns on Hard Crowd Control

The title explains it all but more or less I'm sure people are sick of being chain crowd controlled for 8-9 seconds before dying. I feel like if that some Diminishing returns should be placed into the game for similar CC's (stuns and roots mainly) but if you are getting hit by a stun can we make the next stun have 60% duration and the one following it like 30% duration? CC is the second most OP thing in the game next to Teamwork and when you combine the too its just down right toxic. I'm not asking for CC's to go away but at least let similar ones Share DR's because it seems like every new champion released has some form of crowd control.

Chain CC 8-9 seconds before dying? Sounds like you are a tank and are doing your job.

Unless you got caught out and your team isnt there to back you up and punish them for blowing all their cooldowns to kill you. Thats your fault.

sometimes I'm a tank, sometimes I'm a bruiser, and sometimes I'm mid or ADC... i just watch this happen on more than one occasion when you play vs a high CC comp. the problem is even though, "I'm doing my job" I'm not actually playing the game... I mine as well tank my hands off the keyboard. Plenty of other games have DR's on CC this is actually one of the first online multiplayer games I've played without it. People will make mistakes and CC especially point and click, not skill shot CC, is currently way to strong. Imagine sitting in a Malz ult only to get hit by Liss ult, then an Panth stun. Sure Qss can save you from ONE CC a bit of tenacity may help some sure, but then lets look at knock ups... Naut ult with a Malph and Ali combo tenacity wont save you from that.

Melee only item that provides DR on CC landing in succession. BOOM!

This guy gets it. and Item would be nice Idk if I'd make it strictly melee but i would make it a tank item. if Damage champions want to Sack damage in order to stay alive I'm okay with that

I would rather see this as a desirable item for bruisers with some offensive stats on said item as they suffer more then a pure tank, and if it has a semi decent damage component to then it can function as a situational pick for fighters and assassins. If you made it pure tank then it would rapidly become a must buy item for tanks and further shove damage oriented melees out of the meta as they would also need to pick it up to have more combat uptime to deal with tanks getting more uptime reducing the value of playing those champions and encouraging a more CC tank meta... ironically. But if we make it have enough of an AD component then we see it becoming desirable to marksmen. I would rather not give back liners more tools to deal with cc , they got distance and positioning and it gives them an inherent advantage over melees when dealing with cc.

One method is to give it a triggered passive on a CD similar to BV, Self cleanses after being cced with Tenacity boost for X seconds. This encourages folks to blow a spell to pop it and then wait out its duration before engaging which creates decent counter play to the item and is pretty clear cut. Another would be the passive functions that you gain flat tenacity for every CC hit that lasts X seconds and Stacks up to 4-5 times, less counter play but if the item went on CD briefly after you lose your stacks might work. (smaller cd 15 seconds give or take.)

Fair enough but i didn't want to exclude AP bruisers like Mao or Swain but your item sounds legit i like the stacking component of it

summoner 1 reduces cc by 65% for 3 seconds after use. item 3222 gives a quick burst of ms. I recommend folks build and play flexibly rather then do static 1 build fits all. I do think we have a surplus of knock-ups in the game, but for stuns and snares I'm just not seeing folks build smart.

I agree knock ups are a HUGE problem especially when chained, Also i cannot think of a single top laner who can Run Cleanse and get away with it.

True, but most Tops Eating a CC would be a good thing for tanks or bruisers as its one less threat to their backline and many tops would get benefit from going item 3140 item 3139 rather then item 3155 item 3156 on the assumption the need to have a clense effect more then the tankyness the magic shield provides. If your picks utterly useless when chain cced and cant handle the focus your likely not a tank/bruiser and are playing a squishier top option so you need to adapt to CC heavy comps rather then run what normal works. If your a tank and you Eat the entirety of the enemy teams cc your team should have some advantages in that fight, cant promise ya that they will take advantage of them but its still there.

This is of course just my opinion as a player.
Far as knockups go, I don't mind them being around or chained so long as all of them have much lower duration comparatively to other cc, If their Aoe and their durations are to long then it really hurts game health. The occasional ulti with a longer duration I think is fine, but the basic ability's I feel should last at the max as long as a tenacity reduced stun.

A good example I'm thinkin of is Nasus. He has no way in aside from wither (and that's not really a way in more like some Soft CC) and if he eats CC hes fucked, Tanky as he maybe no one can survive being chain cced currently in a team fight. Especially if you team is behind and you are fed they will not do the damage you hope for and you will die even though you are strong.

Also Eating CC is never a good thing... it should be a last resort. ideally dodging CC is the best you can do unless you have to take a bullet for someone (adc or assassin) who is flashless. if you are cc'd as a tank you are only doing half your job. protecting or charging a back line and soaking damage are the things you want to focus on and you can't do that while chain cc'd.

depends, if you force them to waste CC because the pressure your bringing that's a good thing, ideally avoid it if you can but forcing them to burn it is not bad. If your just getting slapped over and over by them ccing you and its not because you have pressure but are just a easy target then that's bad. Pends a lot of champion and situation so I suppose its not a great rule of thumb either way.

I'm somewhat surprised this has gotten downvoted to be honest. Getting stunlocked to death isn't fun really. I'd like to see a little more dynamic play built around more knockbacks, attack damage debuffs, or even move/cast/attack speed increases. Something a little more creative than just getting held down and killed.

CC'd into oblivion is a constant struggle for this game that I feel should be addressed. especially chain knock ups
