It only effects you in regards of "failing" the test after you leave it's range.
My only concern with Illaoi has always been that she heals a concerning amount for both the tankiness and dps she possesses. It's not that she's too tanky or has too much dps, but that despite that, when you finally get her low and you see her health rocket back up, it feels really bad to play against.
