Plat Macro?

Holy cow. Just realized that plats know seemingly nothing about macro game. They may have decent mechanics, but wow, they have no plan for the game or the strategy behind macro. My God.

So i was in gold 1 and im in my 4th promo to plat 5. I actually looked up my game on op.gg which is something i dont often do beforehand. Anyways, I see there are all plats in my game. I'm like ok. No problem. I'd prefer plats tbh. Unless they are plat 5. I have a plat 2, plat 3, plat 4, and one plat 5 vs 2 p3, 2 p4, and 1 p5. I actually feel kinda nervous for this one because it seems like im starting to play with people who are a little bit better than i see myself (p4ish). Needless to say after the game i am just shocked. How can these plats even be plat right now. Like seriously, I've seen better people in high gold with better macro than this crap. AND the picks were fking terrible. Like wtf is this. I am so suprised right now, but after seeing this bullshit, i think im feeling a little more confident about making d5 or at the very least high plat. Like i seriously think someone from riot is trolling me right now. I legit thought these people were boosted to plat and just slowly dropping down the ladder. WTF is going on? Does it get harder or better or something?

The only thing i can think of is one time i heard from somewhere that low and mid plat is bad and that most people who rise feel a definite change in high plat. Now, tbh i dont see a difference between these plats and like mid gold. I think high gold is better than some of these people at macro, but I do think that these plats have good mechanics compared to high gold. BUT THE MACRO SHOULD BE BETTER, RIGHT? LIKE WTF.

Or maybe riot does some weird shenanigans in promos. I felt a serious decline in the quality of my games since getting to my promos and I feel like this has happened every time im in a promotional series. I feel like im being trolled by rito right now. ???

I just want to point out that a game with a handful of plat players, who I might add have poor enough MMR to be playing in games of into-plat promos, does not represent plat as a whole.

Regarding your comment about "most people who rise feel a definite change in high plat", I can sort of confirm. I went on a streak from low Plat 4 to Plat 2 in about a week, but right now I'm on a break because I hit a small wall at the start of plat 2 (like 2-3 losses, which is bad compared to how I was doing). Maybe I burnt out, but I can say from the experience from everything up to plat 2 that it is not hard to climb if you know what you are doing and are consistent.

My view may be screwed though, because I main jungle and because of that I'm in fairly large control of the macro decisions. When I'm in a lane it does seem that there is a lot less coordination and lanes keep to themselves, which can be an issue if they fall behind (bot is almost always one side or the other doing very well).
