How can I be a better blitzcrank player though the mid-late game ?

I feel like for me specifically , blitzcrank is one of those champs I need to be playing consistently to land the key hooks I need to in solo q . But the problem that I have is I can only play him situationally usually 3-5th pick in draft and the enemy team needs to have atleast 3 hook worthy targets. But I've noticed in most of my games with him laning phase is always a breeze , but my mid and late game needs alot of improvement , including getting caught missing alot more hooks than I do in laning phase . So any advice to become a better blitzcrank ?
