Making Irelia's W Synergize

While Irelia is by no means in a bad spot or a bad champion, I find her W currently feels like it might as well not be there. In its current state all people every really use it for is a bit of quick extra damage and a passive stack in a trade, or finishing off someone from mid-range who looks like they're about to escape.

I don't want to over-buff it, but I do think the ability needs a pretty big change so as to better work with the rest of her kit and not make her so weak in AP match ups. I don't like Irelia mid personally, but even I don't think the magic damage mitigation should be completely removed. With all that said, here's my suggestion to make it work better with her kit while hopefully not making it over-tuned.

Defiant Dance

Defiant Dance does not grant Irelia stacks of Ionian Fervor when hitting enemy champions or minions, but will grant a stack when hitting one or more monsters.

FIRST CAST: Irelia winds up for up to 1.5 seconds, during which she gains damage reduction, mitigating more physical damage than magical damage. For every 70 - 350 damage (based on level) Irelia mitigates with Defiant Dance, she gains a stack of Ionian Fervor, up to 3.

PHYSICAL DAMAGE REDUCTION: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 ( +3% per 50 AP) MAGICAL DAMAGE REDUCTION: 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30 (+3% per 50 AP)

SECOND CAST: After a 0.07-second delay, Irelia swipes with her blades in the target direction, dealing physical damage to all enemies around her and in a line, increased by 0% − 100% (based on channel time).

MINIMUM DAMAGE:» 10 / 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 (+ 40% AD) (+ 40% AP) The SECOND CAST activates automatically toward the cursor's direction at the end of the duration.

The idea here is that Irelia will get less damage mitigation early, but still reduce magic damage meaning she isn't absolutely stomped by AP top laners. The magic damage mitigation is much lower though, making it a sort of opposite to Galio's W, which has better magic damage reduction than physical. In exchange for less AD scaling on the second cast of Defiant Dance she also gets stacks of Ionian Fervor for timing it well and blocking damage, allowing her to possibly do more damage in extended fights.

This may be a bit overtuned but the numbers aren't too important, it's the idea that I want to get across so her whole kit works well together. I wouldn't mind nerfs to other abilities in exchange if necessary, because that would mean you need to use her whole kit to succeed, where now it feels like in some cases you can forget W exists and still win fights.
