New Ascended mechanic may be busted for some champs

I played a game of Ascension today as Kog'Maw. There was a big teamfight in the middle of the map for the Ascended. I got killed in the middle of the teamfight while the Ascended buff was coming down. While in Kog's passive I stood in the middle of the Ascended area to blow up then suddenly I got the Ascended buff. Insta revived with full health and everything. Don't know if the kill counted or not, was too surprised to notice. This doesn't seem like it's intentional, also it may work on other champs like Sion.
