No More Auto Placements in Silver Riot, For Real, Stop

I get it you're trying to draw new players who think they are some hot stuff into this difficult game but, giving new players silver doesn't help them improve it makes life harder for people trying to ESCAPE and yes that word is bolded because silver is the new elo hell, its not bronze.

Largely this is in part to how new players (these past 2 season) have been basically getting a free pass into silver.

Case and point season 3 I became ranked for the 1st time and i got bronze 5 even though i went 6-4 in my placements. After being stuck in bronze 5 i felt i needed a fresh start to relearn things I'd done poorly by going back to the basics and making a smurf.

Season 4 rolls around and low and behold I had improved tremendously! The aforementioned smurf was placed into silver 5 with a 6-4 placement, I was both elated and disgusted after that because it had cost me so much time and it felt like that had paid off. My original account AKA the one I'm currently posting from, I climbed into silver the prior season and went 8-2 in my placements. I waited exited thinking "Maybe I'm gonna become gold!" only to see that I got placed BACK into bronze 5.

... Just finished playing a ranked game after a large string of losses. Shockingly.... Another loss. I think the worst part was the fact that the enemy team had 2 people dc then come back into the game after having left and they ended up the highest levels on their team..... Really riot? reward lateness?

This is relevant because I took a pole and most of the players who ended up basically feeding or doing nothing past lane phase were players who had placed last season or this season.

Whatever, Riot never reads these anyway and this is a way for me to be less mad about a game i directly correlate my self esteem to, unhealthy as that is i can't change it anymore.... that is why I'm addicted to this game too..... well w/e probs just gonna end up falling all the way form silver 2 to bronze again after the season reset... goodnight all.

Oh so this explains the afking/feeding garen in my last game... but really though. I got placed in silver 2 when i literally fed out my ass in almost every placement game. I proceeded to feed more. I didn't play ranked for months afterward.

focus on what you need to do to improve not what others need to do and you will climb more easily

Silver is average. That's how it supposed to be, with most of Bronze being below average.

Additionally, you will always place lower then you ended last season. It's a way to guarantee that you actually deserve that rank because you need to work for it again.
