Huge kill participation, decent amount of gold(due to KS early), excellent warding on the map...... doesn't matter because I'm level 14 while everyone else on the map is 17-18.(except their support of course, who is also 14). I love playing Sona, Naut, Braum, and Leona. but im done now because its just not fun to not be able to do anything to carry the game in some way.

Obviously supports don't carry "in the traditional sense" that why i said, "its just not fun to not be able to do anything to carry the game** in some way**." i have the games where i present kills to my adc on a silver platter, i keep the lane zoned, we wreck bot. but it all turns on the rest of the team, and certainly not on my skill as support(rode only sona to gold season 3 and 4).

take this example, a good buddy of mine is plat this season. Im better than him in everyway, i dont say this to put him down or build me up. i say this because I play 4-5 games with him a week and can attest that his decision making is horrendous, he never wards, his map awareness is abysmal, and his shot-calling is bronze-esque, and he's been banned multiple times due to toxicity. So why is he plat while i cant get past gold 2? He plays Yi and Ezreal every game.....EVERY.....GAME. he has decent mechanics, ill give him that, but not any better than mine.

So the game really comes down to, can my adc do something with these kills i've landed him, and did the other lanes not feed for the past 16 minutes. Because i've had it both ways. we win bot and lose games, we win bot and win games. the variable is never me, it's the rest of the team. That's the point of this thread, me being consistent every game matters more if I'm not playing the support role.

I think the biggest problem with it in all honesty is there is very little gratifying about winning a match as a support. Your ADC gets tons of kills and you win and in the after match chat your ADC gloats and gets revered for all his kills and carrying and you get nothing. It would be great if there was some way a support could get some respect or something when we do well supporting our ADCs. Some way to get a pat on the back? But as it is now we just feel like a stepping stole for our ADCs to stand on top of us while they gloat about how well they did.

i disagree, as a support main i find myself in a position to change the flow of the game entirely. whether it be catching an enemy off guard or warding around the map. everything supports do is fun and game changing.

Gold support main here, Champion Mastery 5 Zyra, Brand, Sona, Zilean, Nautilus, Janna, and some I forgot about I'm sure. The worst feeling here is going against a pick-team. You are a squishy support, an all-in support, and only rarely a fast enough or tanky enough support to dodge out of CC or survive it when you go out to ward near objectives. Personally I feel like a proper solution is to increase ward placement range, or add a +experience mastery node for the skill tree somewhere. I am so done with the watchful assassins, the longrange CC, and everything else that gives me little chance to survive "warding trips" Give us a break, and Dynamic Queue will go faster, everyone will be happier as a whole.

Bard gets XP from chimes while his ADC collects solo lane XP, he is still underleveled but it's not as bad with him as it is with other supports. Give him a shot.

I am so tired of people blaming you for being "0/7" when you're actually a 0/7/16 support and all some mid laner who's loosing the game sees is someone with more death than himself, while he's 2/2/1 and had less impact on the whole game.

Supports carry the game in the sense that we set up the kills for everyone else. The major downside to being the support is that you aren't as threatening on your own. You require others to follow up to guarantee a kill (or an enemy death), and if they don't follow through, then you are not only going to not get the kill, but you might have also just thrown yourself into danger. Most ADCs in recent memory would refuse to even pass our own turret into the lane to farm, much less follow up on any engagements I made. That's what turned me off to being a tank support for a very long time.

Basically, you require teamwork, and in the current climate of the game, teamwork is in dreadfully short, rapidly dwindling supply.

I think gold items should give xp when near a higher lvl champion like the old mastery fixxed that was hard

I just had two phenomenal support games and only got A+.

How is 2/3/22 anything less than an S? I feel riot isn't weighing this stuff fairly.

Why are people so obsessed with level disparity rather than income difference? Lower level means just 30-50 less base damage/shield/heal on some skill, or slightly higher cooldown. But as a support I love having short death timers. The real problem is gold difference. While carries finish their last item, you barely have 2.5+boots. THAT is the real problem.

Just go Zilean full AP. Enjoy dem kills.

In general I think support is just not fun to play, sorry. The queue times says enough. Maybe they should add another mastery tree more minted for support. I play mostly with friends, and no one really likes going supp. That's the general vibe I get from the rest of the community as well.

I said this before, but it may have gotten lost in the walls of text. here is the TLDR of this thread.

"That's the point of this thread, me being consistent every game matters more if I'm not playing the support role."

People who complain about being under leveled as support typically don't know how to actually accumulate exp and possibly die too much. They also don't play Bard, who is the answer to every problem ever. Period.

Carrying on a support is very do-able. Idk how many times i've made the enemy lane quit or the other team rage at the bot lane for dying so often. I would say out of all the supports you listed Braum is the only one i see as relevant to climbing but its obviously all personal opinion. Sona dies instantly from 1 cc, leona is easily countered by a morgana, and naut just doesn't fit bot lane anymore, i've yet to run into any problems with a naut support. Im confused on your argument with being underleveled? Very rarely should you be 4 levels down unless you are roaming a ton, i rarely have run into this issue. Just my opinion lol
