Just wanted to say that Sona feels absolutely fantastic to play right now

Thank you Riot, seriously, thank you so much for giving her the help that she needed with all the pre-season changes. FQC gives her the chase/disengage that she really needed and Windspeaker of course helps out her W a lot with the increased heal/shield and the resistance increase.

From an avid Sona lover. <3

Remember when people were crying about Sona being trash about 2 months ago? Kek

Yeah I do, that's why this thread confuses me did they actually do anything to her or did she just happen to synergies with some of the preseason changes well? Last I heard her current kit was to boring and ineffective compared to other supports, did they do anything to change her gameplay because the complaining has just stopped all together.

They did nothing, it's just the new masteries hype being ridden til people realize she's still just as inferior to Nami as she was before. The complaining hasn't stopped, there are always slow times in-between the high times. Just over a week ago was one of those highs, so now's the slow.

The same people downvoting this thread probably.

She was, before the pre-season changes, which is potentially a problem,

If any of the things that are making Sona decent get nerfed, then she's being nerfed right along with them, because there still are no changes to her kit

The preseason was VERY kind to Sona.

Yep, I think she got more from Windspeaker's than any support outside of Soraka. Being able to give such a big chunk of resistances to 5 people with W is amazing, Frostfang and FQC's mana regen is now enough mana to actually let her sustain like she was meant to and the FQC active really gives her a level of safety she desperately needed.

While the changes have obviously been good for every mage support, they seem to have been particularly effective in patching up Sona's problems and giving her new (or rather, old but lost) strengths.

Lol, yeah 10 AP Ratio Sona SO OP. Just build item 3100 and look at this

**Ult Stun + Q base damage + Q magic damage on next autoattack aura + Q power chord increased by 40% damage + Lich Bane AP Ratio Spellblade + Thunderlord's Decree. **

Few champs have better synergia than that, Please Realize, **THAT IS MORE BURST THAN A VEIGAR COMBO. **

She seems just as one-note and binary as she always has been.

Or at least since she's been since 4.13. Before that, she had a lot more flexibility.

B-but she uses chords.

Level 1-5 still feels absolutely dreadful, if you play her as a spam healer. And still awful if you play her correctly as a hyper-aggressive lane bully. You will dance toward an empty mana bar so fast until you obtain Frostfang...thankfully it's your first purchase at least. but yeah, a 80 mana spell for 30 point heal + 35 point shield is just plain crazy.

And having 335 MS unless you're in a bush/river now instead of 350 at all times like before the preseason hurts her the most out of all ap supports imo.

So you're beating Blitz and Thresh with Sona? As I remember they were killing her nonstop.
