Are u with me? Besides the game's matchmaking these days is out of whack....
I demand there should be the “minimum mastery” required for champions you bring to ranked games! Enough of “ first time Xyz...” — in ranked games! Not to mention in your promos! Do the "tryout" in regular games-- do that in AI games... not in ranked man... seriously. C'mon.
Wouldn't it really improve ranked game experience?
Needing to have a certain level of mastery on a champion before you can even pick it a) massively increases the barrier to entry to ranked play in general since you'd need to have 20 champions at that mastery level (in order to avoid you getting banned and picked out) and b) seriously hampers champion trading, since if you want to pick a contested champion for someone later in the pick order you'd need to have the appropriate mastery on the champion, even if they are a champion you own but have no interest in actually playing.
I have 90k mastery on Morgana, but I haven't played her in probably over a year and a half. Pretty sure I'd be a fresh Morg player if I played her again. Not sure how this solves the issue of people dying a lot in the game.

If your skill level is the same as someone who first times champions, then that's on you.
