So, I'm an Ashe player with a huge experience and I have played hundreds matches against zed, yet this happened and I don't know why. I was absolutely sure that zed ALWAYS appears BEHIND the target he ulted. Is this a bug? What caused it? was it my fault or did zed do something? You simply ulted too early, that's all. You have to wait for him to appear, otherwise he will appear behind you while Ashe turns to fire the arrow
i think its because you turned to shoot the arrow as he came out so he appeared behind you
Zed is supposed to appear on the opposite side of his target from where he ults, so yeah, it looks like a bug to me.
Edit: nevermind, I thought it was always opposite where he ulted from, but it is just always at your back. You were facing away from him when he ulted, and turned around after he appeared behind you. play it in 1/4 speed and you can see what happened.
You shot too early.
I don't think it's a bug, I think it's a manifestation of poor coding. When Zed targeted you, it "picked" the side opposite him. Then, in mid-ult, you changed the side it had already "picked," and it went for that anyway.
I noticed the same thing happening to me when I was Vel'Koz and tried to Q a Xin who was following me. As soon as I hit Q, he hit E. As he was dashing to me, I turned around to cast, and he wound up behind me, which isn't how Xin's stupid E is supposed to work. Unfortunately for me, Vel'Koz Q materializes in front of him, so Xin, who was mostly through me at that point, was "behind" the cast, and didn't get hit. It felt fuckin bad, man.
Actually he landed before I shot ult.
Yes Zed is supposed to appear behind them.
Zed always lands behind you after his ult, always has, always will.
