Is anyone else confused why riot is forcing ekko to be an ap assasin when he has the kit of brusier

Lets look at ekko's ability's for a second his q- a line skill shot that slows and does damage on the way back. fun to use but not really the most assassin ability, it fine for poking them down i guess. his w- and aoe slow and stun that gives a shield when you walk into it? like wut? why would this ever be on an assassin. Assassins almost never have hard cc and a shield? so confusing on an assassin his e- basically fioura q except a blink. the closest thing in his kit that would make him an assassin but really its just like fioura. his r- his r heals him and does aqe damage in his position 4 seconds ago. Again this should not be on a assassin. it dosent help with burst except if people walk over it and it heals you? his passive give you a three hit proc like vayn w and gives him movespeed. it gess it fine on a assassin but really its way more useful to a bruiser

I guess what i am trying to say is that his kit makes way more sense on a bruiser. he dosent have reliable burst, he has mostly sustained damage with q and e. he has no way to reliable get to the back line without dying(unless you somehow get a godlike w).

and if you do build him full ap like riot wants he falls of like a rock late game. you get insta killed anytime you try to get a back line target. It makes me sad that one of my favorite champion is basically not viable in any role.after all the nurfs to bruiser ekko he is just really bad now

Because they want him to be an AP assassin. They didn't design him to be a bruiser.

He just doesn't have the right kit to be an assassin. 2 of his abilities are hard to land, he has kinda strong cc, an ult that heals him and makes him invulnerable... Riot should just accept they failed and make Ekko a Tank/bruiser instead of forcing him into something that has failed

so you built him as a tank? i've been playing ekko for 4 months now and i've always hated tank ekko, ap ekko has always been the way to go and trust me, if anything is weak it's his early game, his mid and late game he can delete a squishy target before they can say, "balanced"

yes you die really fast, that's why you don't dive into their team, ekko is all about getting picks and roaming early game, if you're doing good you can even solo tanks if you play him right, against squishes? auto Q auto is almost always enough to kill them because of your passive, lichbane, and thunderlords which does massive damage

So no, ekko is not weak by any means you just have to get used to the ap playstyle, as a matter of fact he could use nerfs right now because his passive is honestly disgusting

Because he is busted beyond belief as a Bruiser. We just has an entire season of "Tank Ekko". When people say "Tank", they really meant "Bruiser".

IMO he has too much versatile mobility to be a healthy bruiser.

His Timewinder is to give him some poke to soften his targets up before he goes in, his Parallel Convergence is both a set-up for his attack and his get-away - stunning groups of enemies so you can get at your target unmitigated, and stunning them so that you can break away easier, and his ult is 50:50 - mindgames and hard burst, or an escape tool for hit-and-run tactics.

He's an Assassin because he has what he needs to pull off effective and ruthless hit-and-run assaults on enemies without always risking everything when he goes in.

(not to mention I don't understand why people would play tank/bruiser Ekko when pretty much everything he has, Parallel Convergence shield included all scale off of AP.)
