I think the dodge mechanic should return

As of right now, AD champions are really reigning supreme. There's talk about how ADCs are really overpowered and it's the "ADC meta" and blah blah blah.

With the vast AD itemization and the armor shred that comes with a good amount of the items, I think the dodge mechanic should return to the Fields of Justice for dedicated Tanks. For those of you who don't know, dodge was a mechanic that was removed because of Riot didn't like the RNG factor of randomly dodging an autoattack (ah, the irony of crit). Dodge was attached to items like Ninja Tabi that were dedicated to defending against autoattackers.

I think if dodge came back in Healthy™ amounts (and I'm saying like 30-50% dodge chance) then we could negate the vast influence of ADCs. I'm saying ADCs have vast influence because of their ability to take towers safely from a distance, their high damage when taking objectives, their ability to take down just about anyone (provided they are protected), and their ability to pump out constant DPS. Though you might think I'm crazy for wanting such high dodge chances, here are my reasons as to why:

  1. With high dodge chances, tanks/initiators will actually be able to get to the ADC easier and maybe survive.

  2. Dodge does not affect spells. Mages and AD Casters will be more important to deal with the person with high dodge chance.

  3. If the ADC isn't as prevalent, then other classes will be able to see the light of play more often. Maybe we'll see a Mage and a Support at bottom lane and not be called trolling.

Though there are obvious problems with dodge and if you're ahead (like Jax), it could feel overbearing. I don't want to gut all ADCs -- they deserve their fun too, but unless they have a true counter (like blinds) and not a band-aid counter (like armor, which can be countered with armor pen), many other classes will not get the spotlight as much as them.

I don't know how I would fix all these problems, but I guess that's truly up to Riot to decide. What are your guy's ideas?
