Why don't people just play mages bot when adcs go mid

assuming the adc can survive in midlane I wonder why nobody is willing to play mages bot even though they will play them as supportsI mean, what, can't clear a wave or something? Come on now.

is always complained about because he doesn't have this or that some of which is solved by going duolane and getting perfect farm because mage

ive used this for a while, she WILL outtrade any adc earlyon if you can land skillshots and if your support has cc she just becomes a monster.. a monsterful monster woman

he shoves all the lane.. will need something done about ganks though

it used to be that there wasn't enough mana itemization for this, but this is no longer the case, theres too much mana now

Generally mages aren't played bot because they need solo exp if they're going to provide carry level damage - as they scale with levels. They also generally lack the sustained damage to win a hard engage if their burst combo doesn't kill the adc out-right.

The typical support mages work because if they fall behind damage wise, they still have something very useful to provide - %HP damage, CC, AoE, AoE CC, etc

lol support is bonkers right now, if you don't want to hard engage then don't hard engage.

used to be stuff like Blitzcrank Nunu Sona

but now your support can be something with stupid silly cc or deterrent damage or something like Zyra Nautilus TahmKench

Bot lane has increased in ridiculocity that did not exist a long time ago. I think a mage could avoid engage

also back when people made this assertion you could get item 1053 for 450g xD

I think it could be okay to do in some team comps - to avoid 5AD maybe, but there isn't a large pool of mages that would be able to pull it off. I'd agree that Cassiopeia is probably one for sure, possibly Orianna as well.
