Gut the balance team, a clean slate is needed.

The League community is more disenfranchised than it has ever been after the atrocity of which is Season 6. The constant meandering between balancing poorly designed items and overloaded kits has led to the worst gameplay I've experience in three years of play. From the absolute joke of assassin tanks, percentage based attacks, to the shit-show of penetration items on caster marksmen (Lucian...). To the ruthlessness of swiftness boots, and the cringe worthy era of devourer. The balance and perhaps design team absolutely show incompetence. I don't think they play the game in the same capacity as the average ranked player... if at all. Now look we are in the Tri-Force meta. Welcome back merciless bruisers. Clearly something is amiss. Someone isn't playing the game they balance, or the game is being balanced around professional play (for the sheer sake of profit). Either way gameplay is worse than it has ever been. Even in the worst of patches prior to S6 you'd expect to have a handful of very nice matches, now they're so rare I cringe and reminisce in nostalgia when I stumble upon one.

Well bruisers haven't been in the spotlight since season 2 tbh. But yeah. And about professional play, it's actually insanely boring. Yea maybe the champions are "playmaking such wow", but seeing the SAME GODDAMN CHAMPS EVERY SINGLE FREAKING GAME is atrocious. Makes me wanna hang myself.

I think they just care about how the game looks now. They don't care that the champions are balanced or fun to play anymore. Considering the majority of their income now comes from E-Sports rather than RP sales, it seems they'd rather let the game evolve in a direction which is visually appealing rather than mechanically appealing.

Look at the state of champions being released, they are being designed, to be like hearthstone net decks. Seriously! Imagine if hearthstone didn't allow you to create custom decks, and rather just gave you the decks which were tested by pro-players and determined to be the best ones. They could invest all their resources into the development of cool card effects and flashy animations, but to most players by restricting player control over how they play, they are removing the game, and turning it into a competition.

It's no wonder builds like tank assassins are becoming a thing, builds are the last bastion of player control in this game. They are far more interesting to play as, even if they are less fun to watch.
