Illaoi's Test of Spirit Lacks Clarity
I think the title is pretty self explanatory, but I want to comment that Illaoi's "Test of Spirit" ability really lacks clarity. When test of spirit is cast, a few things happen.
- A clone of your character appears.
- A beam connects to your character and the clone, similar to the Fiddlesticks Drain and Morgana Ult.
- A circle radius appears similar to Morgana's Ultimate escape range.
- Nothing seems to appear on Illaoi herself.
The combined do not really send a clear message of what is going on. When we see beams we know from Fiddlesticks and Morgana that what we should do is break range. However, this is not generally what you want to do with Illaoi as it causes your character to begin spawning tentacles. Nothing indicates that hitting her will do anything when it actually does. For allies, it also creates a weird situation-- should they attack the clone or the actual person, the benefits are not really obvious.
When range is broken the ability also gets more confusing.
- Tentacles begin to spawn on walls around you.
- Nothing indicates outside of the tooltip that you can to kill these tentacles to get rid of it.
She has one of the only abilities outside of Yorick's kit that actually requires reading to figure out what it does. There needs to be some kind of visual clarity changes to make it a little more readable for a person first encountering Illaoi.
