What is this ranked placement system?

I win half of my placement games, 5/10. I get placed in Bronze 5. How does that make sense? I get placed in the lowest possible rank after winning five of my fucking ten games. Riot what the hell. I worked hard to get placed somewhere nice, but I get shoved into bronze fucking 5? What is this bullshit? What kind of logic is this because I'm confused as hell. Some of my games went terribly, some of my games were a breeze and I got S's, so why Bronze fucking 5?

You should expect to drop about a tiers worth of mmr with a placement set. If you were in bronze before and played you games it's a realistic place to start.

I can see why that's reasonable, so some smurf can't put you up at higher ranks? But there's a flaw in that logic, what does it matter? If you do really well, then your wins and scores should reflect and you should be put into a higher rank. If you suck and you're just being carried, that should reflect in your scores and you SHOULD drop in rank. That seems more reasonable than maybe being on team after of feeders and then being forced to play at lower ranks where it's harder to climb back up.

You need to play your placement games either AS SOON AS RANKED PLACEMENTS ARE AVAILABLE -- or like 2 months later when MMR has settled and your last season MMR is around the same level it was before.

It's a broken system altogether. There's nothing balanced about the MMR system. It was used by many sports in the past then abandoned when they realized how pointless and broken it is.

If you're truly a good league player you can help your team win no matter how good or bad they are. The challenger babies who are gifted their last season placement and rewards for getting there early on and staying there ar ethe only ones who benefit from this capitalist system.
