Losing 40 LP for failing a promo?

I can't tell if this is a bug or intentional. I played two promo series today and lost both of them. I'm not salty about that, but I don't understand why I dropped 40 LP after the series ended. I get about 18 LP per win and maybe 20 per loss. So my MMR isn't great, but this seems a little too much. So it takes me what, 5 wins in a row now, to get to the next division. On top of that, it seems like you drop division instantly if you lose a game at 0 LP (I might be wrong about that, but it seems a lot less forgiving than before).

Is this intentional? Were too many people getting lucky with their promo struggles? Am I just a whiny child? Let me know.

Examples of how it works 98LP win -> 115LP overcapped to 100displayed Lose = 98LP still in promo Lose = 81LP still in promo

80LP win 101LP overcapped to 100displayed So if you start at 100, losing twice really really drops your LP.

So your LP still (gains?) and loses even though it is hidden. Some people say the matter of how you win/lose your promos is important because you can lose LP. Some people say they would say dodge so you get back to promos faster (don't know if that is good unless you already got your free promo win).

yeah this just happened to me, had 1 free win, then lost 2 lol dumb, dropped me to 65 LP... I am only gaining 15-18 LP for a win and losing 20, it makes no sense...
