What is with this ranked system?

Yesterday I was in a match with a silver 4, first season of ranked, and all golds on our team. The enemy team had a plat 4 & 5 then the rest were golds. What the hell? I know im gonna sound like a bitch but that was honestly the reason we lost the game. I wanna play some quality ranked games and I know this isn't even the worst case. I've seen challengers vs golds before. This system needs to be fixed... or just looked at... or something. It's not just me, its multiple people across multiple levels of skill. This is getting stupid now.
