Is doing nothing bad?

Is doing "nothing" aka farming, pushing your lane/getting towers, helping with dragon if the opportunity presents itself and only dying a single time a bad thing?

I just had a game where I was accused of doing nothing which above is basically what I did the entire game. Is that a bad thing compared to trying to fight and then dying 5-10 times? Me personally, I don't see how dying once, and the rest of the things I did, was a bad thing and it seems fairly logical as well. You can call this a rant thread but I am interesting in correct tactics to win a game, or not lose control of it like a car on an icy road.

If you have a different opinion, I wouldn't mind hearing it.

It depends on the game and what impact you could have by grouping up. Sometimes it is as bad as intentionally feeding, sometimes i is an important thing to do.

If your team has one tank/initiator who is simply farming top while they loose 5v4 fights, that person is probably at fault. If you are playing someone who relies on farming to reach peak strength, or who can splitpush well, by all means keep doing it, but at least try to teleport for ganks or dragon.

The problem is in low elo NOBODY does what they're supposed to, so if you want a chance at winning you'll team up when able. Don't get me wrong I hate it too and it pisses me off when people keep running it down mid instead of farming but it's the way it is low elo.
