What the hell is with the afks?

Is it me or am I seeing a shit load of afks? Almost every day im getting one and its not fun... I've also gotten demoted twice in the past week maybe week and a half because in that crucial game someone decides to afk. I don't know if im just the unluckiest man on the planet right now or whats going on but its getting to be a bit much...
