Which Team would win? (5v5 Scenario) #3

iLasVegas··1 votes·291 views

(assuming all players had the same skill level)

Team A: Quinn Top Nidalee Jungle Ahri Mid Ezreal ADC Janna Support

Team B: Garen Top Fiddlesticks Jungle Katarina Mid Tristana ADC Blitzcrank Support

If this was a real game, which team would have the advantage? (Better odds of winning). Elaborate on your opinion; Which lane would be won or lost by that team?

This is a pretty clear cut case of team 2 having the overall advantage. However, both teams are so terrible in terms of composition synergy that it will come down to which teams EFFECTIVE playstyle is best utilized. Bot lane is pretty neutral provided janna doesn't position just awfully, so it should mostly be a farm lane unless ez and janna just make a ton of the same positional mistakes, the late game scaling edge obviously goes to trist, and so does the tower taking advantage. The jungle matchup hilariously favors nidalee however. There is no way fid can keep up with her clear speed and thus he has very little chance of keeping up with her early game pressure, which puts the odds of a snowball squarely in the favor of team 1. Team 1 mid laner has the advantage at all phases. Quin has significant advantages on Garen early in the game and should seriously punish him in lane. From the individual matchup analysis we can see that the matchups actually favor team 1 significantly, particularly in the early and mid game.

Ultimately what decides this game is two things: 1) Does team 1 make use of the early game advantages they have to siege and end quickly, and 2) Does team 2 play smart enough with each other to drag the game out for 35 minutes at which point their team's composition has a huge advantage in team fights and do they then PLAY to this team fight advantage with proper pressure management and vision control? Team 1 has a complete lack of reliable engage so its entirely on them to win with a snowball and by exerting pressure in all lanes at all times. And team 2 has nothing going for it aside from decent 5v5 potential provided they can pick the right fight in the right spot with Fid ults.

This is one of those matchups where the duration of the match probably decides which comp wins. 25 minute game? Team 1 is the victor. 35 minutes or more? Team 2 likely wins.

Both of these team comps are absolutely atrocious though.

Thought exercises like this one in this thread are actually very good at providing useful training. You can apply what you learn from threads like this in every single lobby you ever take part in. Being able to understand and recognize win conditions for champions and team compositions is a vital part of league of legends. You have to know how to exploit your opponents weaknesses while protecting your own and thinking about situations like this makes you realize, as a player, what actions and steps should be taken should you ever be in either position yourself.

ok it still comes down to who plays better... people of similar skill lose to each other all the time cuz some one makes a mistake plays bad and another player plays better etc

iLasVegas1 votes

Okay, but if you eliminate those factors, you're left with 10 champions, some countering others and potentially having a bigger effect in team fights. One team will be favored by the odds.

it still comes down to who makes what decisions and when... either team can win ... the only way to know is to have all 10 players of equal skill play all 10 champs ten times and then compile data to see what comp wins and why

In an apples to apples comparison this would be the case. However, in a strategy game such as this, different things matter at different times in different scenarios. The odds actually favor BOTH teams, depending on the game duration. And depending on the closeness of the match.

feel like boosting me to bronze?

I've never been to bronze. In 6 seasons. I TRIED to intentionally lose a bunch of games and tank an account to bronze once last season... I gave up when I lost 20 straight games in a row at 0LP silver 5 and didnt get demoted and came to the realization its impossible to get into bronze without trolling SUPER fuckin hard every single game. I spent 50 games trying to do that, no way in hell i was gonna spend another 50. So honestly, I have no idea how to help you get into bronze mate, I wouldn't even begin to know how to get to that MMR range.

You say they have the same skill level, but we need to decide on WHAT level that is.

Assuming they all play at a Diamond 3 level: Quinn will beat garen in lane Nid will snowball from a lane or invade fids for easy kills Ahri will easily beat kat Ez will always dodge hooks with his e, janna will be staying back and shielding until ganks come

Conclusion: team 1 will snowball and win. Their strength is in skirmishes and 1v1, they have no tank, so teamfights might be in favor of team 2.

BananaJannana1 votes

At a bronze/silver skill level:

The team with less skillshots wins (Team 2)
