I just wish Riot was honest and transparent
I'm fine if they want to make a game different than the one I would like to play, that's their prerogative. It's their intellectual and creative property and they are free to do whatever they want. My issue is entirely with the intentional lack of transparency and honesty in regards to the games direction and future.
I'm not sure if the community as a whole buys into Riot's ambiguous deception or not, but it really isn't very subtle. When the entire community complains about damage since the start of last season, then they wait 8 months to even acknowledge it, only to add more damage with the guise of resistance changes in preseason, it's an obvious sham.
Riot is intentionally trying to deceive the community into believing that they'll amend their design and balance direction, instead of being honest about their intentions, and this is inexcusable. They told us tribunal would be replaced, they told us afk's would be addressed, they told us LCS wasn't their priority, they told us that they knew damage was too high, etc, etc. If you can't figure it out, let me tell you, they are telling the community what they think the community wants to hear, intentionally disguising their true plans for the game, and then simply doing whatever they want in hopes that the players wont realize they've been lied to.
It would be very simple for them to state "damage is high by intention, as we imagine a game with quick paced action and instakills. We believe that is the best and healthiest version of League". I could abide that, since it is within their rights to design the game as they desire. **But I simply cannot abide them telling us that they recognize that damage is too high and that strategic decision making is being replaced by op meta abusing, and then intentionally doing nothing about it. **
Riot, I feel deceived, I feel lied to, and I feel taken advantage of. You have blatantly and deliberately tried to deceive me into believing you wanted to make the game into the game I fell in love with again, only to keep me playing a bit longer. It isn't right, it isn't ethical, and I abhor your lack of decency. You have a responsibility to your community to tell them what you actually plan on doing, honestly. It's time to come into the light and take ownership of the direction you have actually chosen.
