Sion? What is a Sion...
What is Sion in this game and meta? Is he just a tank that sucks damg? Is he a bruiser? Is he a fighter?
Bc honestly none of his builds feel good at all. Esp. late games. Help?

Sion is best used as a full tank. I don't know what you're doing wrong but his builds feel fine lategame, especially with stoneplate.
You should be able to farm 500+ HP every game, if you aren't doing that it could make you feel weaker.
Tank that sucks damage?
What?
I'd give Tilterella a watch. This guy has earned Challenger Ranked on multiple occassions & is an Avid Sion player. While he does play him as a Tank, he is also known for his Full AD/Lethality Sion playstyle. This was taken in Patch 7.2, but It still works & is actually a really fun way to play him.

I don't know how he makes that full AD build work, but at least it's fun to watch.
Sion's a Juggernaut, and personally, I build him tanky with CDR - core items being
and
Sion's a tank actually. Though he can fulfill a juggernaut build rather well.
Ah. Sort of easy for me to get them mixed up from time to time, most of them are massive and imposing. Thanks for the correction, though!
It happens. Normally the easiest way to tell the difference is the amount of CC. If a champion has two forms of hard CC, odds are they aren't a juggernaut.
Nunu is a special case though.
Lol, sion is not a juggernaut. Juggernauts got extra passives, he didnt.
100% a Tank with High base damage and unreliable ways to use said damage and abilities. He can be built like a bruiser/juggernaut but due to his unreliable ways of landing damage, it is best to build him full tank.
His core Items are probably:
/

Occasionally if I feel like I can get away with it, I like to build one damage item with defensive stats:

So what lane would he best in? Top tank nothing gets done and the other top lane gets to free farm most games (darius). What's a good damg build for him?
I used to just build zz rot and atk speed with damg to push towers down.
Sion isn't a big tower pusher. You should build tanky to help out in the teamfights. Against heavy bullies like Darius, you need to play very safely and not try to engage them.
Have you tried the Jungle?
Can't miss CS in the jungle so you can build his HP up.
And instead of ganking from the river, come from behind your tower with his ult.

if you have ZZ rot, your shouldn't need AS. And really, you should avoid playing a tank if you wanted split push potential.
Back when I played Sion Top. Usually my goal WAS, to make sure nothing got done. Use your spells to clear wave, and your tankyness to become a wall for your lane opponent. I also made heavy use of his Ult as a means to get back into lane quickly. I uses to go Frozen Heart first for the CDR and mana. (Though ICB may be a better option now) Though start with a specters cowl if your opponents magic damage focused. Overall, I tend to have a high CDR focus on his build, Due to the wave clear from his spells, his HP scaling shield, and over all utility.
Though Surprisingly, I never bought into the Sunfire craze with him. Mainly because I saw that Sion could depend on his abilities enough, without relying on an item for wave management.
My experience with sion:
His character look and voiceover makes me feel like he should be a high damage juggernaut
Lane: The E poke is thinner and harder to hit than a Yasuo tornado
The poke damage from W and E are decent, but the lenghty cooldowns and low damage scaling lead to opponents being able to out-sustain it in lane
Q gets interrupted often and i'm left with nothing to do but wait 3 secs for it to come off cooldown
W health takes a while to build up to be noticeable. It's really low early on.
E is a fun spell and a good slow
R is a fun spell, but I feel it should be wider
Sion is super unreliable and even when you land everything, you don't get a payoff unless your team is ready to follow up.
Sion does a lot of damage with base damage alone, with 1 damage item he can almost burst a carry.
What you do is to NOT pick sion into real fighters (those with buffs to atk dmg and speed) cause he is not a "fighter" and he will lose.
You pick sion only when your team needs a huge tank or when you face some one that is not a fighter that has little to no cc.
the e damage is actually decent if its paired with an ap item, though not recommended to build one, you can start with a ring and e just for farming and poke purposes, you will be surprised the damage it can do with a few pokes.
q is mainly to use AFTER you confirm a hit with e and you start the windup at mid range, so you can drop it either before they scape or before they get close enough to cc you.
w is not really an offensive ability, its a shield after all, and it actually mitigate quite a decent amount of damage early.
R is already hard to control if forced to use it on weird angles, a bit wider and you will not be able to go trought the thin side of the towers.
Is a sponge that distupts fights, pretty much like zac.
Sion is better mid and support than top or jungle. Unless you go full ad and get fed. Mid you rush ZZ and just straight up deny the midlaner from ever going anywhere. Support you just go tank support and actually feel tanky as a support.
