Please allow me to rage about AP midlane being fucked over for a moment.
I honestly have no idea if Riot just wants to pamper their beloved AD champs at this point, or if they just want to neuter AP midlane and/or AP champs. Either way, the only positive thing I can see that has come out of Patch 5.22 for AP champs are the +50 to base mana to champions that include, but are not limited to:

Outside of that, there is NOTHING from Patch 5.22 that helps AP champs.
A: Mana pots are gone. The potions we got to "replace" flask and mana pots (
and
) cost 80 to 100% of your starting Gold, depending on which you take.
B: The only AP items that have not been nerfed or made more expensive are
and
C: The only decent Keystone mastery that AP midlaners can use is Stormraider's Surge. You could argue for Deathfire Touch or Thunderlord's Decree, but both only give +20% and +10% AP as additional damage respectively, while bonus AD is +50% and +20% additional damage, respectively.
D: This %%%% ->
For those who aren't aware, with Patch 5.22 Yasuo can now get 100% crit chance with only 2 items,
(
and
) for a total of 3300 Gold. Chances are, Yasuo will have his Shiv before you've even gotten 1 AP item, thanks to the AP item increases made by Riot. Oh, and let's not forget how Yasuo gets a free shield just for moving around, (which is annoying af in the early game since it can block 1 basic attack) and his abilities have NO resource cost in addition to having low cooldowns.
Meaning that if you run out of mana, which you will run out of, Yasuo can go ahead and push up lane as you frantically try to wait for mana regen or recall back to base. Considering how minions get stronger now just by being higher level AND taking towers, your running out of mana will help the other team win.
In closing, I apologize for my long-winded text. In compensation, I have created the League of Legends drinking game!
Whenever you play against a
or
at midlane, take a shot. Considering how popular Yasuo is now, you'll be drunk in about 4 hours.
