Why silver is the worst elo to be in

ViperFangs·3/4/2018, 11:24:54 PM·22 votes·3,905 views

the title says it all but if u wanna know, every new player who gets level 30 has his mmr set to silver so if ur in a s3+ silver game there is 40-70% chance that there will b a new player in ur team that there will be a new (not a smurf) and u cant do anything bout that in promos, now u may be like u can carry if ur good

cant do anything if both the new player and one other lane is doing bad

pls do something riot

there is also a chance of having someone new in the enemy team

it can good for ur team but think bout the enemy team

diamond, plat, silver, gold, bronze. They all feel the same dude.

You'll always have those teammates, who are by comparison, terrible, and every game you play is always going to feel like a Bronze5 game. From now until you hit masters.

That 40% - 70% chance is a massive exaggeration.

I concur, but that's not the only reason.

  • As you said, a lot of new players are placed in Silver, not including smurfs -There are a lot of "bronze" worthy players that are stuck in s5, and since it is so hard to drop from silver to bronze, there's a bunch of feeders in almost every games. -Same as the above, but for those lucky bastard that got either carried, or very lucky with their team and got placed to gold while their skill level is much lower. They're hard stuck gold5 and then placed in silver games

Quite frankly, i found high bronze to be a breeze to climb out of, but as soon as i hit silver, FEEDERS EVERYWHERE! Silver is basically a game of luck. Just hope to get good teams.

I bet that the average skill level of all of silver 5 to gold 5 players combined is lower than the average skill level of bronze 1-2 players.

But by your logic, the enemy team has the same chances. So its not like its all that bad seeing as both teams have the same exact chance.

Actually I'm pretty happy to be in Silver and not Bronze.

Silver may indeed be full of new players who haven't learned the game. But Bronze is full of players who have been around for awhile and refuse to learn the game.

If you don't understand why you should push behind the wave, that's forgivable. If you stubbornly refuse to listen to why you should push behind the wave, and play the game like some kind of top-down fighting game, all the yolo, all the time, and then you yell at and troll and int on your frustrated teammates for asking you not to - well, Bronze is full of that nonsense, and I can never take it.

Maybe Bronze I or whatever is different, but I have had some truly legendary bad experiences with getting matched up with Bronze IV-Bronze V types in public games. Failure to push behind the wave or take CS is omnipresent, and a hostile nasty toxic attitude towards ever changing or learning the game or getting any kind of criticism whatsoever for harming the team is nearly so.

Silver is the worst elo also because of the EXTREME variety of skill in this elo. You'll find everything from Bronze V skill, allll the way up to Platinum skill level players who aren't in their proper elo because Silver is Riot's 'dumping ground' for everyone, and a lot of people just don't play enough to climb/fall to their proper elo.

Remember, theres 4 potential new players on your team, versus 5 on their team, so on average you're benefiting more from the bronze level first time ranked people in your silver games.

I’d say it’s the second worst after plat.

In plat the players are overall better but it doesn’t matter because their egos increase exponentially alongside their toxicity.

The worst elo to be in is P1/D5

People have to start somewhere. What do you suggest Riot do to "fix" this "issue"? I really don't see the problem.

You can't climb out of silver because of your own gameplay, not because of the new people starting to play the game, nor is it the issue of your teammates "holding you back," regardless of their experience playing the game.

Until you can learn that, you will never climb.
