Your stance on killling AFKs/DCs?

What do you guys think about killing AFKs or DCs? Like when the enemy is Level 2 sitting under tower while you're Level 7 and you kill him? A while back, my brother killed an enemy Yasuo who couldn't move and was talking in all chat about being stuck under his nexus turret. My brother playing Garen decided to charge into the enemy base, dive 2 nexus turrets (he was very tanky lots of damage very fed Garen) and kill Yasuo. Rengar on the enemy said what Garen did was BM (bad manners).

My stance on it is simple. I'm just getting them back to base sooner so they don't have to walk there.

If someone has obviously disconnected and is just standing there, not moving, then I consider it extremely bad sportsmanship to kill them, deserving of a negative attitude report. Even in ranked. Just because it's ranked doesn't give you an excuse not to be a decent human being. Neither does the excuse of "they would do the same to me". Just because someone else does something wrong doesn't mean that you shouldn't be better than them.

People who had disconnected, but have come back at a level disadvantage are less clear-cut.

Personally, if they are really far behind due to an early disconnect, I will generally leave them alone for a few levels, unless they attack me or their jungler comes to gank (in which case I'd consider them fair game.)

Later in the game, disconnects aren't such a big deal if their team doesn't lose while the player is gone, so I wouldn't really treat them any differently when they come back.

tl;dr even in ranked, there's no excuse to not be a decent human being. Treat other players as you would wish to be treated yourself.

In ranked, I do it with pleasure. Sorry, but no one has mercy on me when I have an AFK on my team. I need to secure my wins where I can get them.

If you don't kill the AFK, they'll kill you.

If I don't know they've DCed or AFKed, like if I killed them right after they stopped for a second in lane, then that's perfectly fine.

In that situation, Garen diving Yasuo was pretty bad-mannered, but Yasuo probably brought it on themself by mentioning that fact in all-chat.

Anyways, it depends on the game mode. If it's a ranked match, it can be acceptable (competitive match, everyone wants to win). It's someone rude and bad-mannered, but in a competitive environment people will take what they can get.

For a while (First maybe uh... 14 months of League [joined Feb 2014]), I would not kill AFKs/DCs/Laggers, because I felt like a jerk doing it, since it is kind of unfair. Sometimes, you have 5/5 internet signal, you're sitting right next to your internet router, yet you still have 600 ping, because of stupid Rito. **However, in my last several months of League, I started to have lots of lag issues, and it seemed like as soon as I typed the word, "Lag," in all chat, I would get instafocused by the enemy. And it didn't matter which champ I was playing either. I could be playing the Tankiest Shen, J4, or Blitz late game. Then I type, "Lag," in all chat and the enemy focuses me, the laggy tank, in the 50th minute, taking advantage of me being unable to grab, taunt, or knockup. One time, my PC crashed twice in 4 minutes when I was playing J4 and I was instafocused by the enemy in fights. Oh boy did I make them pay for that late game. **Now I just kill them every chance I get, since that is what I get from 90% of this community. Although I did have a couple of enemy top laners who agreed to farm all throughout laning because I was lagging.

Also, your brother sounds a lot like mine. My brother playing Normal Blinds, playing Master Yi, enemy also had a Master Yi, but he was DC the first 32 minutes of the game. As soon as enemy Yi showed his face, my brother killed him. He would sit at all his jungle camps. Level 12 vs Level 2 in game. He got a good 6 or 7 kills from doing that.

Personally, I don't go after a DC unless they're in my way to an objective. If they're behind a tower I'll leave them alone, but once that tower goes down they're fair game for me. Wouldn't want their issue to work itself out when they're behind me. Then hopefully they can work out their connection issue when respawning or safely in base.

So today, I was lagging for my first 2 games. Both games I was mid. I typed "Lag" into all chat and 15 seconds later I was 3 man ganked. Not even kidding. So the following game, my ping went down and I wasn't lagging but I decided to test the other team by saying "Lag" in all chat again. I warded the nearby areas and sure enough, their jungler came about 5 seconds after I typed "Lag". It kind of sucks, it shows that LoL players are not "decent human beings", like stated above, and they do everything they can, even if it is unfair, to win. On the positive side, maybe you guys can trick some people by baiting them by saying "Lag".
