Before you cry OP

Please, try to play the champion that stomped you.

In my opinion, and in my experience, I have always walked away with a profoundly better understanding of enemy champ mechanics after I give the respective champ a play (even in just a bots match).

So please, try this. If you are struggling against Vayne , play Vayne . Even if you only give it a shot once or twice, your understanding will grow and the way you treat Vayne in layne will change for the better. The same goes for Yasuo , Zed , Thresh , Blitzcrank , Riven , and all other champs that people seem to constantly complain about.

I'm not saying that there aren't some broken aspects to some champs - certainly that's the exact reason some champs receive nerfs. I just believe that actually trying champs out will both alleviate the QQ on the boards and provide a better playing experience for you.

Cheers!

Tbh, i've played vayne and she's super easy. People say she's mechanically hard and she's not, you just have to make decisions, that's all, like every other adc. Zed isn't that hard either, you either push them out of lane with WQ constantly, or if they stay they get shredded from your ultimate. I've tried them all, the one I find surprisingly weird to play is Thresh, because you actually have to be aware of what's happening and the skillshot is a little slow.

To me Yasuo Zed Thresh take skill and practice to be good, but when you do get good you shrek.

Riven is an easy champ to play for alot of people spam her abilties, but if you truly understand her kit and mechanics then you can be amazing. Ive seen to many rivens just spam and go into a battle when they shouldnt.

cant even tell you how surprised i was by the little riven did in lane when all i bought was a chain vest in lane. Bitch did negative damage, for all i know all her Q's were healing me

When I first started playing League of Legends, I would consistently get frustrated when champions would come out of the blue and do a ridiculous amount of damage and I not know what happened at all. Vayne, Master Yi, Riven, Katarina, Akali. I had problems with all of them until I played with them myself and learned what each of their abilities did.

It made playing against them so much easier and it definitely saved me a lot of stress from not knowing what killed me.

EDIT: I still sometimes get away from team fights with 1-10 health and die anyway but those are different encounters entirely.

WutsKraken8/13/2015, 8:57:23 PM3 votes

Agree 100%, only thing is I know how to lane vs Riven Yasuo ZedVladimirVayne but I don't trust my team to so when my teammates feed them well...not much I can really do...they're all terrors when fed =/

Vianci8/13/2015, 6:15:46 PM3 votes

That's what i did and i have a better understanding of the game, also i struggle against fewer champions. But Vayne with hp scaling true dmg and Riven with AD scaling shield are still OP imo :P

i have always though that the best way to counter a champion is to play with that champion. Undestanding how a champion works its the best counter play of all.

LongSh4dows8/13/2015, 10:02:19 PM3 votes

I tried Riven in ARAM and she was a lot trickier than I thought it would be. Master Yi OTOH, was much easier than I thought he would be.

i made a post like this on my other account but everyone downvoted because of riven main. People need to grow up and stop all the QQ

I say this all the time, here have an upvote.

People who QQ aren't interested in justifying why the champion is a problem. They're just interested in justifying why they lost. Kind of like how people who use the 'you just haven't played the champ before' argument aren't interested in debating a champion's power. They're just interested in 'protecting' their champion from criticism.

Yasuo isn't hard to play, cause Death, is always by his side.

Towboat4218/15/2015, 1:45:18 AM2 votes

Couldent agree more, did this with Irelia and could not get the feel for her. Her kit did not fit my play style and to be honest felt odd where it had its power placed, although i did get a better idea of when i can all in her and what her damage output is like.

Krigjer8/13/2015, 8:19:58 PM2 votes

I used to think Nidalee was really stupid after her rework. After playing her, the damage she gets from her (difficult to hit) spear is a good reward for actually landing it, and now I just try to dodge instead of complaining.

(still hits a little too hard imo)

Blitz would be an exception. Hes pretty much the easiest support besides leona. I dont even think he is OP, just annoying to play against because your in this constant state of tension about being grabbed and instantly dying.

Hellioning8/13/2015, 8:10:16 PM2 votes

I did. I played Zed.

I won three games in a row, and killed a bunch of people 100-0 whenever I had my ult up.

The only thing I learned about Zed is 'he's actually still pretty strong' and 'try and get your jungler to help you.'

Aboylova928/14/2015, 2:39:17 PM2 votes

TBH most of those champions you listed aren't that difficult. Zed is essentially one combo for his ult, and his harass is super easy. He also has the added benefit of being energy based so if he screws up a combo, no harm no foul to him. Vayne has been touted for a while for having a bad early game, and a difficult champion, and she just isn't. Blitz, I mean there are good and bad blitz just like every champ, but in reality is a pretty straight forward easy champion.

I'll say champions like Thresh, Yas, and even Riven are more difficult, but they're fairly easy to pick up, just that they have a high skill ceiling. There ARE champs that are just too strong for what they do, and need to be toned down. I'd for sure place Vayne in that category, Irelia is another, as they're a champions that's strong at most parts of the game.

Dengeden8/14/2015, 5:07:35 PM2 votes

No, no, you see, if a champion stomped me with a mechanic I don't understand, they're poorly designed. You can't play them, that would be dishonorable and beneath your dignity. :^)

I play riven and win the game 22/3/5

First time riven!

You know what i do? i build cdr AD items i use my shield Passive 3-Q passive-Stun and back and i win all trades and everytime he was low i was going all in and kill him!

Blitz? I have play blitz many times...actually i kinda main him so i am not gonna speak about him (and he have some solid counters aka leona)

Thresh? really? the champion that he is 100% pick in every LCS/Worlds its not OP? get real...and everyone in this game have play thresh and everyone knows why he is OP they are countless posts about how he is OP

Vayne? are you even serious? telling us that vayne is not OP? true damage every 3 AA and riot say that this skill is a tank buster but it deal more damage on squishi targets simple because this skill have base True damage values too....

Zed is not OP huh? forcing you to build zhyonias because if you try to build anything else yeah BG lost game...I guess this is healthy on your brain...

Yasuo..i dont know about him i dont care every time i see yasuo i pick malphite against him mid or top and he just lose lane but sure he would need some nerfs because forcing people to pick a semi AP tank against him just to win a lane its kinda dumb!

WolfChases8/14/2015, 7:07:58 PM1 votes

People who cry about Zed (at his current state) do not realize that he's literally useless late if you are just a little bit careful, if he doesn't win the fame before 20 minutes or so his team is 4,5 vs 5 post 20min. Typical example was one of my games where I literally stomped enemy Ahri (gold 1elo ranked game) but...meh...Enemy Irelia was overfed, their bot lane was equal with ours and their jungler was way better than ours because I was forced to risk and solo 1st drake for my team, I almost died there and lost 2 minion waves....

Even If I did fine, roamed and played carefully we could not win because Irelia was pooping on me, Ahri got Zhonyas and it was impossible to focus her in teamfights, Kalista had almost full builds with BT shield stacked up constantly, their Nautilus jungle had close to 4k HP and even their Karma had Zhonyas, I literally couldn't do anything in teamfights apart from poking with WEQ.

Zed can't solo carry late game and If your team fails hard you are completely useles. He may be a problem for most mages during the laning phase but it not ''MUH ZED OP'' if your whole team is behind so Zed can shine, learn from my example, if Zed's team is obnoxiously bad, his results won't be shinny too.
