The mage you want is easily Orianna She's easily one of the most versatile champions in the game with a lot of small decision making throughout the game- Do you zone or keep the ball on yourself for protection, do you use the ball to speed up allies and shield or damage and ult enemies, the ball can't be in two places at once so often you have to decide which one use of the ball will give you the better return. You are given several options every game, every team fight and you have to decide which is the best. It's pretty fun. Shields, speedups/slowdowns, 1 shot potential, AoE damage, game changing ultimate, good scaling, good blind pick, what's not to love?

and Azir is definitely not a troll pick but now he's been balanced around everything he can do, so to make the most of him you have to be good at everything he can do, which is too much for most people without maybe 100+ games. His mains get over 50% winrate so it's just all about the amount of time/games you put into him.

  1. Have you tried Veigar ? His non-ult abilities are all skillshots, because of his stacking he can afford to build somewhat tanky if you need to.

and its so satisfying to land a multi-target E stunning 3 people for 2.5 seconds and watch their health bar disappear when you hit them w/ W-Q.

Edit: also Kassadin / Ahri might be up your alley, since their mobility adds a bit more tools to work with.

I can think of 2 that are very unique in what you can do with them. Ryze and Orianna both have fairly unique kits that can be used in multiple different ways. Ryze can use different combos to get different affects and has a very versatile ult. Orianna can do many different things with her ball and how she will want to use it differs each game depending on who her team is.

None of them are fun to play. Become part of the bruiser master race instead.

Heimerdinger

i dont know if hes still as cheesy or is the BoC build works, but u could try it out because I remember it being so fucking broken and overpowered

basically take Heimerdinger top, rush banner of command, and just splitpush the toplaner the entire game, dont go to help your teamates just stay top.

again, dont know if it still works

ahri xerath malz leblanc kass evelynn these ones are the best because they are assassins as well as mages. Ahri is probably the most fun out of all of those because she can kill people the fastest and her ult is fun asf

Akali or Leblanc maybe? Both have different playstyles than your normal "stand and fire skillshots". LB is super mobile and fun. Can also be build a huge variety of ways. Akali with playing around her stealth, and again can be build a variety of ways.

League of Legends is not supposed to get its depth from and individual champion being overly complicated. Maybe League of Legends is not the game you should be playing. Mages you haven't mentioned are Ryze, Ahri, Akali(sort of), Anivia, Azir(I know he's not powerful right now in the eyes of many, but he's certainly not completely terrible), Gangplank( again, not quite a mage, but serves a similar purpose) etc etc.
