Dragon Form Effect changed: [NEW]: "Flame Breath explodes on impact or at target location, dealing 100 - 200 (+30% AP) bonus magic damage and scorching the earth for 4 second. Enemies on scorched earth take 60-120 (+20% AP) magic damage per second. 1st dmg - lvl 6-18: 100/105/110/115/120/130/140/150/160/170/180/190/200 2nd dmg - lvl 6-18: 60/65/70/75/80/85/90/95/100/105/110/115/120 [OLD]: "Flame Breath engulfs all units in a cone in front of her"

E deals base damage of 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+60% +30% AP)

So basically with dragon form at level 18, Shyvana deals 440 (+90% +60% AP) with her E in aoe and leaves behind a zone that deals 120 (+20% AP) each sec for 4 seconds to a maximum of 480 (+80% AP) for total of 920 (+170% +140% AP) magic damage. It also goes through minions and detonates at first enemy champion. Flame breath has 8 sec cd at max rank and reduced to 4.8 sec with 40% cdr.

For comparison: Karma's mantra Q at max level deals total of 785 (+150% AP) damage in an aoe. Does NOT go through minions. Cd approximately 5-10 seconds in teamfights late game.

This sounds cool... but I'm also scared.

Quite certain that isn't how it works but I can do some test when PBE server comes back up, though I'm pretty sure its only at max 200 (+30% ap) + 120 (+20% ap) at max lvl. No more than that

However if it does work like that it would still be incorrect as it would be 220 (+30% ap) + 200 (+30% ap) + 120 (+20% ap)

but again I'm very certain that the original E dmg isn't added to dragon forms E dmg and they are separate calculations entirely due to the power being shifted into two sources, the fireball and the scorched earth.

The description on Surrender@20 says it's bonus magic damage which implies it is added to the base E damage. The bonus damage scales from 100 to 200 based on champion level.

And you are right, the AP scaling got reduced from 60% to 30% with the same set of changes.

That "bonus magic damage" is strictly referring to the %ap bonus I'm pretty sure. But again I can test it, though I'm fairly certain I wasn't doing 1000~ dmg base with 1 E.

Edit: hmm the base dmg of the blast alone does around 500 so I guess it does. though doesn't scale well with ap anyhow. a Lot of nice dmg from that ability regardless, I see why they nerfed the ap ratio so hard.

Too bad rylais is gonna get pretty nerfed soon.

There's still no real reason to build much AP on Shyvana though. Ult dive damage is getting nerfed, AP scaling on W is peanuts and Q doesn't scale with AP at all. The only real reason to build any AP on Shyv would be for the items' secondary effects, such as Rylai's for the slow or Gunblade for the omnivamp. And I'm still pretty sure neither of those is that useful.

Yes, I just said Rylai's wasn't useful on a primarily attack speed based/off-tank champion. You're dumping 3200 gold and an item slot into stats you'll barely use, just for the slow. Compare its effectiveness to that of something like a Blade of the Ruined King, a finished jungle item, a Dead Man's Plate, a Titanic Hydra, or heck, even a Frozen Mallet.

You wouldn't build Rylai's on Garen, would you? Even though his spin is a constantly proccing 40% slow.

Rylai's on Shyvana is basically stuffing a Rylai's Singed into a cannon and launching it into the enemy team or just plain getting away easily. W Dragon for AoE being removed kind of makes me sad because it was really great. Running too much attack speed on Shyvana isn't that great, offtank is the worse role she can have, even AD is better. Ultra-farmed supertank is best.

Shyvana as she is now season 7, is busted as fuck because of plants TBH. Don't let the 'board mains' tell you otherwise, she was still strong in Season 6 just not meta-S-tier like Kennen / Jayce / Nidalee

well unlike Shyvanna, karma also offers a gigantic shield and can heal herself pretty darn well and is able to constantly spam Qs. There is really no reason to build AP on shyvanna other than for novelty's sake
