Then i lose 4 games back to back. GO FIGURE. Gold 5.... not this season.

I don't know if you're new or not but riot will start giving you teammates that are on losing streaks or with lower mmr than the other team. The systems algorithm thinks you can carry other players. If you lose these games your inflamed mmr will go back to normal and you'll start to see the difference in teammates again and be matched with/against people with the same mmr.

No it doesn't. Both your enemies and allies scale with your MMR. Through silver 1 I only played with 1 other silver player while I was matched with at least 1 platinum player almost every game. Both teams looked like this (S1 me, G2, G1, G1, PV) ( G3,G2,G2,G1,G1) . By the very definition of ranked, all of these players should have been better than me but because I had something like 75% win rate through silver it began matching me with platinum players on both teams before I was even in gold.
