To development team of Season 6 Ryze
Think that it was well done. More versatile and fun to play as and against. No longer a glowing blue ball of stats. Now with more utility and impact in late game, rather than being too strong in lane. Good job.
Problem is passive. Really boring "INNATE: Ryze's maximum mana is increased by 5% per 100 AP". Not interactive at all. Mana is core, AP is core, both built normally so it's just free stats.
This is mean to Season 5 Ryze's team. They wanted windows of power. It's good Idea! But done wrong, windows of weakness was too short, windows of power too powerful. It's because to reach power window Ryze casts spells, and during power window Ryze casts even more spells. Ryze is always casting spells, there is no buildup in power! Howerver It's like this Season they say F*ck you to previous team. Not nice.
Please listen. Solution is replace more interesting passive. Shift Overload's rune system to Arcane Mastery. Here is suggestion:
PASSIVE: Ryze's other basic abilities reset Overload's cooldown and generate a Rune for 4 seconds, up to a maximum of 2 4
If Ryze consumes 2 Runes, he shields himself from up to 60 - 200 (based on level) (+ 60% AP) (+ 3% bonus mana) damage for 2 seconds and gains bonus movement speed for the duration. If Ryze consumes 4 Runes, he gains 25% AoE damage and 5-10% spell vamp (scales off Realm Warp's rank) for the duration.
Might think "That is crazy Danjeng, you are Ryze main, biased changes, that's just old ultimate now on passive!". But it's not the same! This is much weaker. Desperate power (old ultimate) gives 50% Aoe, 25% spell vamp, 80 MS, for 6 seconds! With the press of a button! This proposed change also requires buildup. Sacrifice a lot of DPS beforehand for those two seconds, because can't cast overload for four spells or else dispel all Runes. So then Ryze can choose for window of power now. Instead of free mana.
Don't buff Ryze.
