Why LoL just doesn't make any sense to me anymore.
Usually the balance team gets blamed but I could never quite agree with all the hatred against them, because facts don't care about your feelings.
I've come to realize that LoL is and always will be balanced for ruthless competitive gameplay.
However there is this recent trend of cuddling players that has been going on for like 1 or 2 years and obviously this isn't an issue limited to LoL, but an issue nonetheless. We act like nobody should ever feel bad or offended or be criticized, the game is supposed to never show players that they just suck and Riot started to make strange promises such as:
- giving players more agency
- decreasing overall frustration
- fighting toxicity
This, and I don't know how else to say this, is just outright ridiculous, a paradox goal and kinda pathetic too.
Wake up, this will never be achieved. It's 5v5, everyone has something to do, different champions and roles give you different opportunities and 99% of complaints boil down to the simple fact that you didn't use your champion properly and didn't play your role properly.... or your whole fucking team didn't. And toxicity is as bad as it has ever been. Actually we introduced a new kind of toxicity, which is "silent toxicity", where you fuck up games because you are mad and the only difference is that you don't talk to your team. So you just keep eating all the frustration and pretend to be nice.
These kind of shenanigans have divided the playerbase and most likely the company Riot Games as well. Get off you moralistic high horse, stop playing therapist. Focus on making a good game, on playing, and stop getting offended by chat.
The teamplay in my experience has never been so bad, communication never so poor. You keep blaming the balance team or champion designers not because you are sure but because it's easy and convenient, because everyone does it, because your favorite streamer does it, group think is all this is, but that doesn't make it true.
Blame the cuddling! The fake promises and the ridiculous expectations you have! Stop being hypocrites.... and maybe this game will not die. Competitive games are not "safe spaces" and even if you try to make it one, you just make everything worse.
And for the love of god come up with something more elaborate than "too much damage" or "i am frustrated" the next time you are discussing the balance.
Merry Christmas you bunch of losers ( <- that is a joke, stop getting triggered jeez)
