Unranked players shouldn't face Silvers or higher in normals (except for if they win a lot of games)

Just finished a game where the enemy had 3 silvers & a bronze, my team had 4 unranked (myself included). The enemy team slapped us, my team didn't flame or troll, we tried to work together but wasn't anywhere near good enough.

I have lost 6 of my 7 promos, I am not good enough for ranked yet.

Despite this I am constantly ranked with Bronze/Silvers/Gold sometimes even Plat. I played with 2 of my friends for a bit after I reached level 30, one is Silver and the other Diamond, I only remember getting so many high ranked opponents since playing with these.

I don't think its to do with my MMR because I lose all the time, I have lost 21 of my last 30 normal games on Summoner's Rift.

I am not salty, I do not QQ when I lose, I just want to play with players my skill level. The difference in skill was not just "the enemy team was better", it was a clear difference in every single department. The biggest difference imo was the enemies had their vision spot on whereby my team mates (and admittedly, me) do not know how to properly ward or get rid of their wards.

Please don't tell me to play ranked promos because I still face Silver/Golds.

I would like to face players my skill level, maybe if bots taught me about vision, punished me for missing CS, to go for objectives, to defend split-pushes I would play them a lot but unfortunately this is not the case :(

Sorry for the long post, I hope there's a way I can contribute to matchmaking balance.

EDIT

To the people who love to stomp newbs in normals don't like this, ask yourself, should a team of 5 who know vision and can utilise its advantages be matched vs a team of players who are struggling to understand the difference between wards, where to place them and how to react to vision?

U do realize that silver and bronze skill is same or even lower than most unranked? Silver and bronzes are basically players who didnt learn anything while leveling account.

I don't know what kind of Bronze/Silvers you play against, but the ones I face are far better than me. Their plays, laning, vision etc all far better than mine.

I am trying my best to get better, I am always watching/reading guides and tutorials, but I need to practice against players who are trying to learn like I am, not against players who already have a good understanding :)

If an unranked player constantly wins then it's clear they are not unranked level and should be faced vs Bronze/Silvers, if they get slapped like unranked players do when facing ranked then they go back to unranked :)

As a Silver 5, I'm not great. and I've been matched with team mates even worse! :P

Besides, smurfing, boosting, and account selling have REALLY buggered the whole thing up. It really is true that everything below challenger is bronze.

I think because of me playing with my high ranked friends, LoL thinks I'm better than I really am, as a silver you might be able to help me understand the "Level" of play that silver is.

Can you correctly call the right moment to take an objective like Dragon? Do you understand vision and can you use its advantages? Can you last hit/CS well?

I'm pretty sure the whole teams MMR gets pooled during builder games, On yer own, tough call.

I'm not knowledgeable enough I'm afraid. I DO know that you have two separate MMRs for ranked and regulars.

But truly, I've seen Diamond players who were mechanically worse then some bronze's... Like I said in my previous post, theres just too many factors out side of personal play skill that affects the ranks now.

I've lost games that were 5v4, games where we had a 300 mmr advantage, games where we were up 40 kills, etc etc. That doesn't mean that I consistently lose games like that, or that something needs to be changed about the system. It just means that how each game is played individually matters. You're matched roughly where your skill level is at. Sometimes you'll win, and sometimes you'll lose. Just don't sweat the losses and do your best.

I too have won games with Golds and stuff but as you said its no consistent. What is consistent is me having difficulty understand certain things, which leads to me making horrible decisions :P decisions that other players, not just on the enemy team, would find very easy to make

MMR, they are different for ranked and normal. Personally I wish it would use the higher mmr for matchmaking in normals, like, if you have very few games of normal compared to ranked, and your ranked mmr is significantly higher it just one time copies your ranked mmr over and goes from there.

But it is what it is.

All I read here is telling me you are just NOT ready for ranked. Yes, league is long and hard to learn. Yes, there is a lot of mechanics you have to learn (farming, side steps, vision, skill shots...) and YES ranked is hard. People WILL play their main, they WILL try to win by any mean and if you can't do anything, just practice more until you get better.

I've started to play early S5, tried ranked as soon as i got lvl 30 and found out the hard way i wasn't ready. I trained, and got ranked bronze 1. I got enthusiastic and played more rank until i got demoted, than i got back to normal until i felt ready and climbed to silver 5. Now i stoped playing ranked a lot because the season is ending, but i play with a lot with gold friends and we get matched against gold/plat players and I manage to be impactfull in the game even so. Why? Because now i know every champions, all of their ability/passive, I know how to side step, I know where to ward and my farming is way better than it used to be.

Don't cry because It's too hard, just play more and get used to all of the game mechanics and when you feel like you improved try your chance again.

Many people, when playing ranked, only play one champion or role well. Thus their rank has very little relevance when they're not on that champion or role.

Additionally, there are many people who only play Normals, although they're quite good at the game. You'd arbitrarily match them against players who aren't on their skill level simply because they don't pay ranked?

Your problem is you're playing with your Diamond friend, and matchmaking thinks your opponents should be somewhere between your skill level and theirs. If you want opponents that are closer to your skill level, play more games on your own.

How else are you gonna get better?

" I played with 2 of my friends for a bit after I reached level 30, one is Silver and the other Diamond"

That's what did it right there, duo queueing can mess up your MMR. But you're only gonna get better by playing against people who are better than you. Getting stomped by them is going to teach you how to win. Going up against other people who don't know how to ward, can't punish you for missing cs, etc. is just going to teach you bad habits. Good luck my friend.

Unranked are usually just Silver players who haven't finished placements. I don't see a problem.

With that being said tho, if you want to get better at vision, I'm willing to play some with you and help teach you
