And there are absolutely no Plat players in the match

Bronze , gold, plat, challenger... none of that matters. In the end they are just a human like you. Yes a challenger can be beat by a bronze player. Its not likely but fact is it could happen. Just get better and try harder next time. I personally don't play flex or even duo since to me it gives an unfair advantage. Esp with discord out there. It allows to much cordination that normal solo q people simply arn't using. Also by playing it solo you actually become better yourself at a faster rate than with someone else helping you, thats why solo players have alot better map awareness statically speaking that is.
Also remember that the larger your premade the higher your MMR gets boosted for that match.
If you queue as a team of 5 silver 5s, it wouldn't make sense to match you versus 5 silver 5 solos.
