When will Riot actually nerf the powerful junglers instead of all the junglers?

Because this is getting old. Smite just got a range nerf(arguably) for absolutely no reason, and this puts the hyper mobile junglers on top, who are, ironically, the ones that are doing well in this meta. Why not just nerf these mobile junglers already instead of the whole jungle? Or even better, buff the immobile ones!

Rich get richer, poor get poorer. It's Riot's balance program.

Jungling was actually feeling really, really good once the double smite system was implemented.

Then riot increased the machete cost.

Now riot does this.

Nerfing them won't make the others get played. The other junglers need buffs right now before they can start seeing more play.

Riot needs to roll back the shitty jungle changes.

I'm pleading with you, gentlemen. Don't take away my Skarner, DIana, Nocturne, Kayle, or Evelynn.

At first I thought the whole "it's so we see LCS big plays" thing was just nonsense, but when you see bizarre and utterly senseless possible changes like this...How could you even consider it? Why are we narrowing down the list of viable junglers more and more, with the exact opposite sentiment, that this won't be the case for much longer, being said to us?

Even if it's for LCS, wouldn't it make a healthier, longer-lasting community to see some plays with someone...different? Wouldn't that renew interest in the game? No one likes seeing the same damned thing over and over with the same champs. And if a player's truly any good, they should be able to prove it by, you know, adjusting accordingly to the proper balance changes.

Darwin, man. Those who adapt to their environment survive, not the ones who are simply the strongest in the current environment.

Is this about the Smite Changes?

I mean, realistically speaking, farming Junglers are almost completely unaffected, like many tank junglers and those hit a bit too hard by how strong the Jungle is now, whereas JarvanIV early gankers LeeSin are hurt the most due to the range decrease.

ImHerVoice2/14/2015, 4:20:37 PM3 votes

nerfing powerful only replaces powerful how long until you casuals realize that?

Jasiwel2/14/2015, 2:39:01 AM3 votes

The problems wouldn't persist if they nerfed the cooldowns/tankiness/damage on Lee, Vi and J4. That's all that would be necessary. The champs would easily still be viable, but they'd have to risk more which would be healthy for everyone.

The Smite changes aren't necessary. At all.

Why is Riot's philosophy of balance "nerf nerf nerf nerf nerf" in all classes EXCEPT junglers.

Why is Lee Sin the exception? If he were a top laner they'd nerf him into the ground, leave him unplayable and unviable for 6 months, then buff him up slowly over 3-4 patches until he's playable again.

This philosophy is stupid by the way....

But why is Lee SIn the exception?

LOL Spammer2/14/2015, 4:31:20 PM2 votes

Well if you are so upset about this how about you either:

  1. Don't play in the jungle or
  2. Play the OP junglers

Ultra mobile champions are not top in the jungle. Ultra mobile champions are top in the jungle, in top, in mid, in bot and even in baron.

InsaneSamurai2/15/2015, 2:42:51 AM2 votes

Because you do not nerf Lee or you get fired.

Tsukuy0m12/14/2015, 7:16:27 PM1 votes

they just need to fix the jungle , at least make it 3 pots instead of 2 and then lower lee sin, vi, and jarvans base stats by a lil.

DMouseslayer2/14/2015, 4:47:26 AM1 votes

I think it all depends on how much they decrease the range as to weather or not it will actually be a slight nerf to high mobility junglers. It could be an actual buff to whats already going on.

I mean, on VI I can charge Q, chilling smite, Release Q, and then still have them get away to a tower or whatever because the range on smite is huuuge.

So honestly, if they drop the range even just a bit, it will probably make my Vi ganks stronger just because if I can chilling, I can probably Q and kill. So in all honestly this nerf to smite range might actually make newer junglers like me who play champs with dashes (Vi, J4, Lee) probably even better and really screw over anyone without a dash or pull.

Which is really dumb. If the range is shortened too much it just means only Lee, J4, and Vi will be played in most games. Which is boring. Champions without dashes already have trouble ganking as it is.

SpecterVonBaren2/14/2015, 8:44:55 PM1 votes

Well they did say they wanted to change the jungle to what it is because they wanted to be able to alter the things in the jungle to deal with certain champions instead of just nerfing those champions specifically. Hasn't worked so far.

Karn Bishop2/14/2015, 8:46:13 PM1 votes

We should all just stop playing the jungle, I'm already debating the benefits of running a second tanky initiate support top that occasionally roams over jungling, I'm sick of being told by my teams that i determine the whole games outcome while getting increasingly less tools to do so at a rather rapid pace.

Beertaster2/15/2015, 2:34:47 AM1 votes

Why is lee sin able to keep most all his health in jungle and still and an early game carry. Every game I play, there are lee sin jungles invading for easy lvl 2 kills against the opposing jungler. There is no danger for them, and then they gank constantly because the jungle doesn't hurt them. If I die to a lee sin, its not because I was "outplayed" its because my team failed to pick lee sin first".

Chespin20132/15/2015, 9:16:21 PM1 votes

I seriously dont get why is it so hard just to buff some champs all i see in every lcs game oh j4, lee, vi, rek, and maybe a fiddle im glad with fiddle showing. But come on wheres the love for other junglers all i see is the 5 junglers that are used in every lcs game i just want more variety is that too much too ask

Ulquiorra9952/15/2015, 1:19:28 PM1 votes

Answer? The day that Lee stops making LC$BIGPLAYS - never.

Because seriously. Get a team of chimpanzees, they'll do better job than Riot's balance team.

"Problem is jungles getting first blood, so we are increasing the jungle item cost to compensate". Then suddenly, a wild Lee appears while you are clearing one more camp at 30% HP since you need more gold than earlier and first bloods you. Solved problem, obviously.

"Chilling smite's range for banks is too big". Lee, Jarvan and Vi won't be affected even if you make it melee range. Ones who suffer are Shyvanna, Sion, Voli, etc.

Profirix2/14/2015, 7:01:55 PM1 votes

I am not happy about this (potential) change because it punishes less mobile junglers even more. Now you have to be within the auto attack range of pretty much every ranged carry in order to cast chilling smite. Guess what? They will see you coming and they will run. This change effectively limits the effective junglers even more without addressing the true problems in this seasons jungle.

Mark my words: If this change goes through to live, expect to see nothing but Jarvan, Lee, and Vi.
