Kled needs a hotfix

Look, I'm tired of the bs kled has. Why did you gate gnar's mega form? Because it brings a crap ton of cc and damage. He's pretty much op in his mega due to how high his bases and cc lockdowns are. Now, I have a suggestion. You have gnar's mega gated for a reason, Kled basically starts off in Gnar's mega, has super f****** short cds and tons of damage early game. His early game is too damn oppressive for how much utility he has. "Oh, we can't give champs with mobility and utility too much damage or it breaks the game". Hello, kled?

Fix his dismount. When he dismounts, he should not get rid of negative statuses. No other champ does this, you can't just give a champ a free get out of jail escape card if he messes up and misplays. Even Fizz has to decide whether to use his E to go in or to get out, but even fizz stays rooted after he E's. Kled? hell no. Besides, letting a champ get out of negative statuses when he loses his mount isn't healthy for the game at all. I landed that skill shot and I deserve to have it last unless that person was smart enough to grab a mikale's or qss. It isn't an "outplay", he already has enough mobility and at 6 an easy set up to dive just about any god damn one under turret. I shouldn't have to blow all my cc to get rid of skaarl and have him not only negate my cc, but get skaarl back after a buckshot and 3 freaking hits. Imagine if gnar's mega didn't have a a cooldown on it? You know how oppressive he would be? The same right now is happening with Kled.

He's manaless, he has short af cc's and does insane damage early game for how well he transitions into mid and still have so much damn utility late. Everyone gives up something for their utility, but seriously, what does this guy give up besides being useless without his mount? Seriously, getting him off his mount doesn't even feel rewarding, especially early game. If he loses it, he should be dead, only to get it back and get the same bs negative status negation when he loses it again. The champ is broken and unhealthy, please deal with it. Out of all the things I listed:

  1. His insane early game damage
  2. How insanely easy it is for him to tower dive you
  3. How quickly he gets his mount back
  4. His Mobility
  5. His lockdown (utility)

My one and only biggest gripe with him is his dismount function. It's dumb, it should have never made it and it needs to be removed

tl;dr Kled's dismount negating negative status (CC) needs to be removed. He should still be stunned after he dismounts. While you're at it, increase how long it takes for him to get his mount back and up his bases when he loses the mount. That way he won't be completely useless without it. Until then, he's on my perma ban list.

You're quite right. He is looking a bit weak isn't he? A small hotfix could buff him to a good spot.

The only weak thing about kled is him falling behind and his late game. Why do you consider him weak when he does so well in most of his matchups? I find his lvls 1-2 extremely powerful and his mid game is also very strong with a few items. I'm genuinely curious about what buffs he could possibly need aside from his mini form being extremely useless.

I'm not saying he's borderline broken or even broken for that matter, but I don't feel like he's in a healthy spot all things considering. He can all in at lvl 3 and win on that one engage, where as just about every other champ has to chip away at you first before they can all in.

And his level 6 is a jungler's paradise. It's easy dive set ups considering he can tank tower till skaarl dies and simply walk away after. I just want to know your thoughts on the champ that make's him seem to need buffs in your opinion.

If I'm being truthful, I don't think he needs any. His win rate is low, but since he is new I'd expect that to rise over the coming patches as people become better at him. If it doesn't rise, a buff might be necessary then. If it rises too fast, a nerf might be warranted. At the moment though, I find it difficult to argue for anything other than QoL changes.

I'll also note one other thing. A lot of the complaints I see are about the dismounting/mounting feeling frustrated (you're not the only one). This should be slightly less frustrating for tower dives at least once Riot updates the tower AI. They were planning on doing the AI update almost the same time Kled came out, but pro's were concerned about Worlds being effected. If this doesn't reduce the frustration enough I wouldn't object to some changes with his dismount function. It would necessitate buffs in other parts, but maybe people playing against would be willing to make that trade off.

Okay, well I hope that helps. As I said, I've played Kled to find out how he works, I've played just about every champ to get at least some sort of feel for them. Once you play around his passive which starts at like a 15 second cd you can avoid his burst of damage since he has no choice but to proc it on minions. Honestly, I just felt like the dismount saved him from a lot of sticky situations that he shouldn't be able to get out of. So here's to hoping that works.

#A nerf is just a matter of time no dout

But idk what u expect... if they make his dismoutin take cc/ continued damage and what not no one would play him because he would be garbage

Riot puts alot of thought into champions regardless of what people may think

It is the way it is

Im just excited there is a mew mechanic in the game!!!

#Keep um coming riot

They put all the thought into premade 5 performance. They rarely consider solo balance. Hence Udyr and Akali just shit stomping solo-que and being absolutely worthless in 5s.

Now dout balances nerds/buffs are mostly focused on the team play aspects of the game ..

It( of course ) is a team game

#xD

Lol

...Take kalista she seez very little solo que play but that doesnt make her bad if i could see every high elo premade five man match ive no dout she is played a fare amount

Uh yeah no.

His "insane" early game damage if you trade with him while his W is up which is stupid on your part. His W automatically triggers on an autoattack and ends 4s after it starts whether or not Kled finishes all buffed autoatacks. So if he chooses to try and harass you and hold onto it, he literally can't farm. Or if you can't dodge his Qs or just walk out. But that's your fault too.

Dropping tower aggro is a bad design part, I'll concede on that.

Uh, no. It takes 100 Courage, and also a 30s static cooldown timer before he can regain courage. He gains 4 for killing non-champions. He gains 20 for kills or assists on champions. There's a 3s CD between gaining Courage for assists. He gains 5 for dealing damage to non-champs, 20 for champs. That's nowhere near quick unless you or your team just misplay around him completely terribly.

His only unmounted mobility is his Q which barely goes anywhere. Mounted, his only main one is his short distance E which can't go over walls on first cast. His ultimate can be easily bodyblocked to cut it short.

The only utility he has is his mounted Q and R. Both of which take a long time. Q having an inherent delay and his R literally broadcasting across the entire map where he's going.

Don't like the CC cleanse? Then learn to time your abilities better. Also once he loses Skaarl, he's incredibly weak anyways so if there's no other factor and you still can't kill or at least severely injure him, that's a you problem.

30s static cooldown timer to regain courage? Is that before or after he loses skaarl? Because I've seen kled's hop on and off skaarl's multiple times during fights so I don't see where this "supposed" cooldown is. He gets skaarl back in less than 10 seconds during his skirmishes after he loses it. How do I know? I have cooldowns and I watch kled get back on his trusty mount before I even get cooldowns back up on some of my champs. So if there is a static cooldown where he can't gain courage for a period of time, it's not working.

And time my abilities? Lol, I have to burn everything just to get him off of his mount. Kled goes ham, so the only way you're gonna get him off of skaarl is if you go back ham. If you go in afterwards with your abilities on cooldown to try and finish him off he's just going to get his mount back. By the time you burn his mount, you and him are both low to where he actually has the advantage.

I honestly hate when people say "if you don't play around this or that, then that's your own fault". I feel like people completely negate the skill of the person playing the champ. His hook goes through minions, so if you don't dodge his hook he can pretty much go in, burst you down and then jump back out. If you let him just go ahead and poke you down for free, then you're the one misplaying. Yeah, he'll burst you down and just about kill you, but you at least want to get some damage on him.

Skip to 3 minutes and see for yourself. The guy loses skaarl, hit's 1 q, 2 autos and gets 70% of his courage back. And you say "it's not quick", but lets be real, 5 hits to a champ is literally not hard to do at all. I don't see how that isn't quick to you. I'm talking about kled in a 1v1 sense, not a team based sense either. That video shows you exactly how crazy his damage is.

The 30s timer starts once Kled remounts Skaarl. If you manage to knock him off within 30s of him remounting, he's literally worthless until said 30s is up.

Who are you even playing that needs to burn everything to just get him to hop off? He doesn't store up Courage while mounted. And without a good bit of lifesteal, he's not going to be doing real healing. So all you have to do is just poke him until he gets low enough you can force a dismount. Then just CC him AFTER that and kill him?

Kled has next to no damage by himself unless his W is up. Bait or wait it out because the moment he starts his auto, the 4 second timer on the W will start. Once it's over, Kled has nothing other than his knockback pistol shot which has no real damage nor does it even knock him that far back.

The very fact he's unmounted now means he has no other escapes. Kled himself has like max 1500 or so health, the equivalent of any extremely squishy character, but none of the benefits that go to Skaarl go to him, making him even worse. And this is in a situation where he hasn't dismounted and remounted yet, in which case his health would be even lower. Just CC him once with something worthwhile and he's done for.

Kled is an extremely strong 1v1 duelist. That's the entire point. You're not supposed to be 1v1ing him in the first place. It's like trying to duel a Master Yi or a Jax or a Fiora or the like. That's what teams are for. If you want to 1v1 him, at least wait till his W is on cooldown.

His Q has 5 pellets. Each pellet that hits an enemy champ restores 5 Courage. That was a point blank shot where almost every single pellet would've hit. 5*5=25. +15 for each auto. He started with 0. 2 autos sent him to 30. Another auto sent him to 45. The 5 hits point blank shot gave him 25, sending him to 70. That was 3 autos + a point blank 5-shot/5-hit Q. Literally the only reason he managed to get Courage that "fast" was because Lee got hit by all 5 pellets from the Q as well as Rek'sai's presence there pressuring both Lee and Riven out of the lane. Kled by himself was practically useless. His W was down, he had next to no health, and his Q does nothing in terms of damage in any real meaningful amounts. His movement speed is also utter crap.

He starts with 0 Courage post-dismount. Assuming no one dies and it's just him fighting to try and get Skaarl back, if the timer is up and he is allowed to regain Courage, it'll take 7 autos for him to do that. And his attack speed is ridiculously pathetic when his W is on cooldown. The only way it'll happen faster is if he hits you with the Q, which can generate up to 25. Even then, it still takes 5 autos. And you say it's not hard to do, but when you're that low health, have almost no mobility and only have it on your Q which you should be saving for champ hits in the first place, and almost no movement or attack speed, it's a bit harder than you think, given the other laner still has 100% of their kit while you have essentially 25%.

Part of your problem may be that you're using your CC abilities to dismount him. He clears CC, so play around that and poke him off before locking him down.

Brain Errör 4041 votes

Yeah, that may be it. Or it could be that I don't wait for my cds to come back up before trying to finish him off. Either way, I guess I'm just playing the matchup wrong. It's still very frustrating having to deal with that though.
