To hell with Series games.

Why does the theory behind these games seem to be:

"Oh, we noticed you're doing quite well working with teams and fighting well in-game. Now let's test to see if you can solo-carry a game with completely trolling and feeding players. Doesn't count as a win until the enemy botlane has at least 8 kills split between them by 8 minutes!"

Every. Fucking. Time.

All these horror stories make me wonder if I should stay out of ranked indefinitely.

Cardboard4lyf and all that.

All it is is people not realizing that they aren't actually playing better than the people at their rank. I go 10/3/8 every match but I just can't win because of feeders!

Except they don't realize how often that they go 2/8/3, and how they don't actually know how to win when they're 10/3/8. They don't realize they just go through the match on autopilot without ever taking the reigns and forcing that match to become a win.

But it's always the system holding them back. They're just getting unlucky.

If you just keep in mind that these games are becoming hard because you don't understand how to win better than the people that you're playing with, you should play ranked because you're going to naturally look for ways to improve your chances of winning, thus getting better. If you think you're going to get stuck in a bitch-fit rut about how your team drags you down every time, don't bother.

Nope. That's just you losing on what happens to be promo matches.

2/3 to prove you should be allowed into the next division isn't much to ask. You could just as easily have two matches in a row where the enemies feed and dc. It's not like it's a 6/9 or something. The sample size is so small that you're perfectly capable of just getting lucky and winning two of them, regardless of your skill. And if you factor in your skill, you should be able to win them eventually.

That is of course unless you're not as skilled as what you want to promote to.

No this guy is right promo games always seem to have harder matchmaking involved and its bullshit. One thing I've noticed is that in my promo game I almost never get a high pick. If you look at my history you will be like oh this dude jungles. Why the fuck did he support two in a row and lose.... promo last picks. 2/3 games are last picks and that happens WAY to much.

You won the first support game and lost the next one, and then lost a match where you were actually jungling. What's the deal? You're not going to get your desired role every time, but when you do you should make use of the opportunity. You lost on your main role, that wasn't the matchmaker screwing you.

Regardless, it's all random, it's not actually picking on you. Humans like to find patterns where there are none.

Very true, I was playing on my other account and He was in promos fro bronze 3. Bronze is easy btw, only hard games are when you face duo boosters. The mid has a 36% win rate in bronze.....the top laner went 1-11. Two straight games the worst imaginable players.

Ranks a joke and Riot knows it. It's designed for you to fail and keep coming back and playing.

People get stuck because they aren't good enough to climb then blame the system instead of trying to get better. And then they play while on tilt, tanking their MMR and taking 4 other people down with them.

It's just the nature of a team based game.

The nature of the Dunning-Kruger effect at least.

I have a smurf account in bronze IV that I mess around on, usually because I dodged queue and don't wanna wait.

Played a game, DC'd at lvl 1 when trying to leash blue buff... Got First blooded and didn't reconnect until my lane opponent was lvl 5. I was still lvl 1. I was playing tryndamere mid because LOL BRONZE. Shit is so easy, it's like playing against intermediate bots. I hard carried and we won, and I'm not even good at this game..............

My smurf ended up Gold V without even trying, which is why it annoys me when people start acting like the game is screwing them.

They just aren't actually as good as they think they are.

BUT I BEAT A PLAT 3 IN LANE ONE TIME! So the fuck what?

While your ranks might remain unchanged, your MMR actually rising. You'll be getting +40 LP a match after that promotion.

What I don't get is, you're supposed to have a 50% win rate, right? That's how you know when you're in a good spot? So then why are promos made to be 2/3? That's a 67% win rate in a very very very small sample size of games. Am I missing something? This just doesn't make sense to me...

It is true that ranked is pretty bad at lower levels, but I feel its more because the people down there are really bad and are lashing out at their team because they can't realize the fact that they themselves aren't much better then the people who they are playing with. I feel usually most people who come onto forums and complain are the ones who don't realize that they deserve to be where they are and are using this place as an outlet instead of doing it in game. I'm not saying its always this way, but I feel these are the people who have more of the "horror" stories.

Also if its related to disconnects/server issues, then its not really a horror story imo.
