Contemplating Quitting

I'm writing this in a very tilted/depressed state right now so I don't know what is going to be said, but I am just going to write...

I have been playing league for 4 years now and I think I should quit. Believe me I don't want to quit at all I love this game, but after 4 long years I still am hard stuck silver 1. I don't play a lot of ranked I only have less then 50 games this season, but when I do play I just lose. In the past couple days I have played 5 ranked games I won 1 and lost 4. Now I have a 20% win rate on my "one trick" Draven. I have a 20% win rate on my main champion after 4 years of playing and it really sucks. It sucks to know that I have devoted 4 years of my life and I am still absolute garbage at the game. I can't go on knowing I am this bad I feel like i am wasting my time, like why even try. Obviously I am not good and I will never be good at the rate I am going. I just do'nt want to be bad anymore. I don't want to be tilted and slam my hand into my desk anymore. I just want to be good, but lets be honest I am fucking awful at Draven, my love, and league as a hole. I want to keep playing I really do, but... I think this might be the end. I just don't see any improvement I actually feel as if I am getting worse as time goes on. I don't see any other option except to move on. I just want to be good at Draven and good at league, but I am just not and most likely will never be. The past 5 games where a pile of shit and I can't handle it I feel like I am going to burst. I don't know what to do. Please help.

You could just accept that someone has to be silver, we can't all be Faker.

There isn't anything wrong with Silver, in fact the vast majority of people are Silver.

The arrogance of Gold players make silver players feel like shit, even though the difference between the two is so minuscule that it can come down to a lucky win streak.

Just play flex and stop caring, play dumb shit that doesn't usually work, but can work.

Take a break. Don't play for a few weeks. I have taken several breaks from the game over the last 8 or so years of playing this anywhere from a couple weeks to several months. You get kinda burnt out from playing the same thing too much.

League of Legends is a video game, a software designed to entertain and be enjoyed. Your life's value shouldn't be determined by what is essentially a long list coded lines. I understand your frustration with constant losses and I do empathize with you, but I feel you're too invested in the game.

Take a break, try something else. Play overwatch, Dota 2, Heroes of the storm, or something else that fits your fancy. League isn't gonna go anywhere and to be frank I doubt it will matter to most if you took a break from it.

Come back when the feeling suits you and play when it interests you. You'd be amazed at how much a fresh perspective and renewed interest can improve one's play. Or don't come back because the game doesn't interest you and something else sparks your eye. Nothing wrong with that and even if I had an issue with it, its your thoughts that matter in this regard.

Play the game because you WANT to, not because you feel obligated.

Honestly if you don't feel like playing anymore and the game is just simply not fun, quitting is probably a very good option. But you've literally played 50 games this season. No way you're hardstuck. Feeling like getting worse is a good thing in my opinion. Your skill stays relatively the same but you see more stuff you could've done. That means you see more room to improve, doesn't it?

Have you ever spammed one champion for the whole day? I once went 12 hours in a row playing only riven. At the end of that marathon I felt like a god that could take on anyone. If you do that every day and don't let that streak down. You will surely climb unreal fast. Every good player has done that I'm sure of it.

4 ranked games of Draven? you say that's your one trick? I don't believe you. Plain and simple. If you feel weak it's probably because you don't have muscle memory down on your champion. Either play something like Miss fortune or just keep practicing Draven, but accept that you won't win very many games before you're actually very very good at him.

Here's a very good video about what goes through a challenger player's head when they play. It should give you a good idea of how you should approach your games and things you should pay attention to. Keep in mind that this level of brain activity is absolutely necessary to reach challenger tier, but also keep in mind that you absolutely can reach this level. It requires a ton of practice but as long as you keep trying, you'll get there eventually. Most people don't even know about the things they should notice. And knowing that you need to work on noticing these things already gives you a massive advantage.

Statistically speaking, Silver I is still substantially better than more than half of all players who play this game. You can (theoretically) wipe the floor against half to the world's people who play this game, think about that.

Not to mention there is a massive world of difference between someone who Ranked all the time and someone who doesn't (which, despite the massive emphasis on Ranked IS most of the player base), regardless of whether they climb or not. Go back to Norms and witness the absolute destruction.

I don't know, just a perspective. I mean the statistics do not say you are a bad player at all.

Ever try coaching? There are a lot of free coaches out there willing to help. People who are self-taught something (Which is the vast majority of LoL players and gamers in general) tend to fall into bad habits without realizing it, and a coach can help you break that. You may have an extremely bad habit getting you killed over and over again but not realize it because you were never told it was a bad idea and now it's just habitual.

Food for thought.
