Retiring Normal Drafts - I beg you Riot, answer in this thread.

So I stumbled across this -

"Normal Draft will be retired at the start of preseason for all regions except North America, Europe West, and Brazil. Our goal is to offer the fewest number of queues that give unique experiences (so we can keep queues healthy) while keeping disruption low, and in all regions except NA/EUW/BR, normal draft had very low participation. In an ideal world, we’d like to retire normal draft in all regions."

And Im asking WHY?!

I started to play in Season 5 when ranked where blind picked. Its actually ridiculous how Riot sees blind picks as a good thing, when in reality its cancer mine. Starting today I dodged 3 games and had 20+ dodged by other players that didn't get the role they wanted. So please, explain to me how Blind Pick is better than a mode where I get to choose what I want to play, instead of praying that my client won't lag during loading champ select - or I will get whatever is left.

Not to mention trolls when someone comes in, instalocks Zed/Yasuo mid when other player called mid first, so that said player will now pick Cleanse/Exhaust Teemo Support and feed, because he called mid first and didn't get it. Blind pick is most toxic game mode in this game. So please, I beg you Riot - explain to me WHY you decided to retire really good game mode and left us with cancerous one? Why EUW gets to stick with their Normal Draft, but EUNE can't? Why every region besides your prestigous NA, EUW and Brazil for some reason can have those, but rest of the world can't?

Uh how about you disable blind pick. Luckily I don't play norms often, but I literally never will if I can't be guaranteed a role I actually want to play, or the ability to ban cancer champions.

How about retiring blind pick this side of lvl 30? Blind pick is a source of incredibly toxicity.

I absolutely can't believe they want to retire it but leave blind pick. Blind pick is a total troll fest. In an ideal world they would just keep both of them, but I honestly can't believe they'd seriously want to remove such an important queue.

Please, God, Riot. Never remove draft normals from NA. That's my most played mode.

I don't know why they couldn't get rid of both queues and make a new one that's a mix of both. Bans+position select but everyone picks at the same time. Wouldn't that have been a better midground? This is going to be just as bad as getting rid of soloqueue was received.

They said they AREN'T in those regions because it is still being used by a large number of players. It's being shut down in the other regions because it isn't being used enough to justify it's existence in those regions. This also isn't for ranked so why are you moaning about ranked?

It's better for them because, like you put up earlier, more players que for blind pick in comparison to draft.

So please, explain to me how Blind Pick is better than a mode where I get to choose what I want to play, instead of praying that my client won't lag during loading champ select - or I will get whatever is left.

Technically answered above as well. But if you want to know why most players prefer blind pick over ranked draft, it's probably because the time spent creating the teams is much less. I haven't bothered to time how long the draft phase takes but it's much longer than blind.

I actually like draft much more, though - since I can potentially see what the enemy team picks before I choose a champion and because I can select two roles I will (most likely) get.
