Aatrox: Rework!

#What are his problems and how should he be updated?

Ok so I've rearranged my Runes and Masteries and I seem to be doing better but he's still in a bad spot. Here are my thoughts (I could be wrong about them).

  • Main Problem: He is easily crowd-controlled and may opt for many anti-cc equipment so that he can land important life-stealing hits, which sometimes still is not enough. Also through-out the entire match mostly up until late Aatrox has difficulty being a reliable team member pushing him into reluctance, which then can infuriate another player.

  • Dark Flight: As a fighter, I'd expect [Q] to deny all kinds of everythings. Apparently it used to. It is especially important to keep him mobile.

  • Animations: His animations want to be more fluent but there's that old animation-stop ruining him.

  • Early Game: (Jungle): There's something about early game that is very insecure when assisting PvP. This may just be me, though..

Suggestion:

BLOOD WELL CHANGES: His living weapon and his mind are one sub-conscious that facilitates a battle-focus.

  1. [0%-100%]: Scaling attack speed kept the same.
  1. [0%-30%]: Lower Blood Well to grant the Fighter an escape tool: Scaling resist against movement impairment.
  2. [30%-100%] Higher Blood Well to grant the Fighter a hardiness tool when crowd-controlled: Aatrox is tough. Damage is mitigated when he's stunned/slowed/polymorphed.

This idea makes him strongest at escaping or positioning with 0% Fury and strongest at engaging with 100% Fury (when stunned/slowed/polymorphed). Both allow the player to rely on his kit better.

(<30%): Aatrox usually is not at full potential with low Blood Well and so this buff assists the player in keeping a distance or fleeing a revive. Aatrox tends to play like this without his team and it makes sense to assist putting confidence in this area of decision-making. Does stack with Defence Mastery anti-cc. (This scaling passive buff must be denied immediately after a Blood Well revive)

(>30%): When Aatrox is ready he will commit to battle by diving in, usually. Because of his shameful weak defences through-out the entire game what happens is usually just immediately dies when crowd-controlled. This is not fun. There has to be a tool so I suggest a scaling damage mitigation when Aatrox is stunned/slowed/polymorphed (like resisting damage when reviving in Blood Well). -- 'Aatrox blade stimulates resilience to off-set his mind to tolerate incoming damage, and take it as its own.' (Blade may visually squirm and ooze a metallic blood as if souls are set free)

The 30% may need to change. Decide optimal level of Fury when Aatrox is ready to fight (without ultimate).

#What is the Aatrox and how could that theme be incorporated with his update? No-one understands Aatrox. What is he and his blade and where are the other four? What is their ancient purpose?

#Will Mecha Aatrox be ready for the 5.17 sci-fi theme? Will Mecha Aatrox be on sale? :(

Here's a video on an Aatrox rework, the audio isn't to great but there's some cool ideas in it.
