Don't question the reasons for skins, Riot doesn't really care if you don't like the purpose of the skin. They made it to make it, you buy it or not. What else can we do?

Well the Vi is called Demon Vi for starters and it's a 1350 skin, not a 1800 skin like Galio.
Unless Vi is guarding an actual gate like Galio is doing in his splash art, I see no reason as to why it should be renamed Gatekeeper.
Maybe Gatesmasher or Gatebreaker Vi would fit a bit better. This skin could be renamed quite easily if Riot wanted to as it's still on the PBE and doesn't even have a splash art.
Gate-Smasher Vi is better. Or a Rockem Sockem Robot kinda thing.
