Too bad that if it gets implemented I'm sure a lot of people will mute teammates and mute pings at the start of the game.
That's a good/bad thing. Good because you can mute toxic players, bad because if your teammates are retarded, they'll mute your pings and you won't be able to tell them that the fed yasuo is coming down to bot to get more kills.

I've been scouring the boards for a single post mentioning this so I don't copy a post
They better start praising the sun for ping muting because we've been asking for it for so long and now we have it in sight but no one bats an eye.

I'm all for spam pinging being mutable, but even obnoxious people can have a point sometimes -- like allowing one warning ping every few minutes, if the mute option is turned on.
It could be like the chat mute, where you're allowed 5 sentences or something (I don't remember the details, but my brothers got that restriction a lot, and they really learned to make their chat count.)
Can't wait to see people complaining because they died to ganks when they muted the one person's pings that could have saved them while they weren't paying attention.
And then Riot begins to wonder why they're getting a shit ton of reports of players not cooperating with team, players grieving, unsportsmanlike conduct.
