What happened to matchmaking?

I don't know where all the low elo players went but I'm tired of being placed with plat and higher in my normal games. This is a newish account and I've always been bronze for 3 years. So now I'm losing every single game because it's a stomp clearly. Everyone on my team who is higher elo tells me to learn from the games, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do at any given point. especially when i can't land any spells or win lane even. Why can't i jsut play against bronze players? I can't play at a high level never will be able to either probably.

Why can't i jsut play against bronze players? Now that would be a little too easy and fun for you, we dont want that!

If you play ranked its gonna be more consistent, for example if you are bronze/silver you will almost never face off against plat and higher.

It is easy and fun to play with people similar to my skill level. I'm not learning anything in these games against better players. I don't know how to get better at this game. Guides and videos never help me.

That's what ranked is good for though, since you almost always will be with people similar to your skill level, and since people are usually all trying to win, you can pick up on what people are doing to facilitate winning (compared to normals where people screw around a lot) and actually get improve as a player.

Normals by contrast allows people of very wide skill ranges to queue together, and people aren't necessarily trying their hardest to win, so you can pick up bad habits from people doing silly stuff just due to skill mismatches.
