[ARAM]Can we please get a champion lock so opponents or immature allies can't deny me my enjoyment.

Some champs I like, some champs I don't. If I don't like a champ, I try to trade for one I do like. Or reroll. If those two aren't options, I play the match to my best ability and try to find enjoyment in specific moments where my champion does shine.

I think those not mature enough to do the above, should not have the ability to force a reroll on my part also because they were unwilling to play things out. This seems to happen most when I get a champ that is really good in ARAM (that I subsequently don't want to trade away). If I happen to get a champ I do like, playing that game usually boosts my mood enough to play through a couple I don't personally favor. But my allies and opponents are having fun, so it's worth it. As I will get my turn later. So having that turn denied stings.

Why not make it so that if someone dodges, you get the same champion as last time. That way, nobody gets rewarded for dodging except those that dodge for team comp. And really, is that worth the dodge timer? And no innocent bystanders get punished for the immature actions of others.

We already get our rerolls and RP from skin boosts back. How hard can this be to implement?

This has the potential to make matchmaking wonky, particularly among players with few, if any, champs owned. For instance, if two players have Ashe "locked in," are they now barred from joining the same lobby or game? If not, who gets Ashe, and how do you communicate to the other player why they didn't get Ashe?

It's not necessarily a bad change, but there's various things to consider.

Put them on different teams. I dont see why it matters.

You mean different games? Because ARAM currently has a "no mirror matches" rule. What if they're attempting to join the same premade? Or if there aren't enough appropriate players to fill two separate games (due to MMR, time of day, occurrence of the apocalypse, etc.)?

I had no idea that was a thing. I always thought it was just a rare thing.

True, they would need to be put in seperate games. As one-for-all is a fun game mode, but lets avoid it in regular ARAM. And I don't think it would be that wonky, as dodges aren't supposed to be common. And have a penalty in having to wait to join a game. Removing the incentive of getting a "free" reroll should lower the number of dodges drastically.

It shouldn't impact the average player too much, but the edge cases could still get weird.

I like this and I don't.

If I get someone like Alistar or Maokai I get excited, sure, and it pisses me off if someone dodges when I get my main. But on the flip side... If I get Evelynn I'll play her, but I'm usually happy if someone dodges because I might not get her next game.

you can also think of it a different way, remember when you got evelyn and you were already depressed going into ARAM with her? well lucky you someone dodged!

so while dodging can remove enjoyment it also gives enjoyment, look at both sides

I'd play Evelynn, go bruiser with snowball and item 3800 +item 3116 and have fun playing the game. Playing her more supportive but just as opportunistically as in rift. ARAM is a crazy chaotic place where the meta is far from stagnant. Some games you need to go adc Thresh or Janna and carry like a beast because the rest of your team is AP and you will lose to an mr stacking team otherwise. Some games you play Veigar item 3165 item 3742 item 3083 because all that matters is poking consistantly to max out your stacks.

If you can't find enjoyment in playing something in ARAM it's because you are actively holding yourself back instead of finding a solution that doesn't involve screwing over 9 other people.

or you just don't like the champion? there is no solution to finding a champions kit boring, items don't change your abilities so no I'm not holding myself back.

and while you may play evelyn plenty of others do not so dodges has it's upsides and downsides

I think this would just encourage people who would otherwise dodge to either feed all game out of spite, or go AFK and do something else while the team flounders.

Maybe, but dodging doesn't allow for reports. And this behavior can get punished appropriately. Also likely (besides bans) is that these kind of players will either change their mindset or stop playing ARAM. Because they are obviously not suited for it.

I realize this comes down to personal preference, but I'd much rather put up with having people around that dodge occasionally and delay the start of game than have to go through a game with them just so I have the ability to report them.
