Shutdown gold and botlane focus. Why adc scale up so early.

I just made a joking comment about how it's better to avoid getting kills as a Toplaner, because your shutdown gold will feed their botlane. Even if they are in no way involved. And then it hit me how disgustingly true this actually is.

The impact and pressure you get as a fed Toplaner (and to a slightly lesser extend Mid and Jungler) nowdays in no way weighs up to the impact of gifting free gold to the ADC and Support of the enemy team if and when you get shut down.

And lets face it, in this high damage meta, playing perfectly is very hard.

My biggest issue in trying to play top lane again is that the jungler can live in top lane for little to no consequence. Supports can babysit ADCs so easily that your own jungler can't make a play there normally unless they make 2-3 repeat ganks, so you can't punish the other top laner for playing badly. The moment you go in, theres the jungler. So then your own jungler has to baby sit you to prevent the other top laner from getting babysat.

There is no 1v1'ing anymore, and while I can play with the team as well, it just makes the first 10-15 minutes of waiting to get a few items before teleporting to a team fight REALLY stale. Like you said, its better to not get kills and just farm in lane rather than try and abuse a lead.
