This gives people a chance to get our of "elo hell" and serves to flush out a ton of horrible issues that are associated with mmr.

......so you want diamonds and bronze players to play vs each other at the start of each new season? i am only gold 5 but i can get any account to sliver 1 in like 2 weeks thers no such thing as elo hell or at less at low lvls if your good carry your team if you go even thats were you belong if your team feeds and you cant carry them some games that happens but just win the next one. ps playing on a laptop with 40 fps your not going to do as good as someone with a gameing computer with 300 fps

Your chance to get out of elo hell happens every time you queue up for a game. If you're losing more than you're winning, that's you blowing your chance.

They aren't trolls, your idea just isn't thought out. How does putting Bronze and Diamond players in the same games randomly reflect on either of their skill? It doesn't. The side that randomly got the least bad players will win.

Completely resetting MMR will only cause chaos. Do you know how high tier smurfs ruin low elo games by completely imbalancing the actual skill on each team? That would be what happens with an MMR hard reset, except on a scale of 100% of the population.

However, that does not mean there is no merit to a hard reset idea. The baseline MMR is around mid Silver; resetting the MMR of anyone below that wouldn't hurt the system as much, allowing people in low Bronze that don't belong there a better chance of climbing up (though it would still harm those already in Silver by giving them low Bronze teammates that did belong in low Bronze).

For everyone whos silver 3 and under..... yes. Higher? No.

If you a new MMR then make a new account and get it to 30. Your MMR is fresh so you can't blame "elo hell". Still believe it's real? Keep on making accounts.

There's a soft reset each season. This means you'll get closer to starting MMR. So if you're above the x point, your MMR will go down, and if you're below the x point, your MMR will go up. So I imagine people stuck in "Elo hell" will have their MMR increase a bit.

Hard resets would turn ranked into a mess for several months, and I imagine Diamond/Master/Challenger players might not be happy with being placed in Silver/low Gold.
